Moon Rabbit is a highly-regarded Vietnamese restaurant situated in the heart of Washington D.C., drawing inspiration from the virtuous rabbit depicted in the Buddhist Jataka tale. Led by acclaimed Chef Kevin Tien, the restaurant embodies an innovative approach to Vietnamese cuisine, showcasing a menu that is both unique and complex. Chef Tien's main objective is to pay tribute to his heritage as a first-generation Asian American, using Moon Rabbit as a platform for expressing his love for Vietnamese culture and food.

    Moon Rabbit tops the list as our favorite restaurant in DC. The drinks and every plate we ordered was creative, unique, beautiful and delicious. The service- Stellar.

    Amazing menu. It was our first time so we had the tasting menu. Each plate was a pleasant surprise. The cocktails were also very different and great.

    The food was good but not fresh. I ordered the tasting menu and that was a mistake! All my courses tasted and looked like they were made hours ago. Bc chef is amazing the food that sat was far from bad, but I was expecting so much more. Wish I could post a pic of the wilted green and crusty sauce I was served as the main course.

    Get the tasting menu, it was sublime. The crab dish in the tasting menu was to die for. Cocktails were insane. 👍

    The food was so so so so outstanding and everyone explaining the food to us was so kind. I recommend the chef’s journey! Our server was the best in the world!! Thank you Monique! You made our experience so special. We will for sure be returning!

    The food was phenomenal. The service was exceptional. Visit and interact with all your servers. Personalities of gold and extremely knowledgeable. This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had. We even went twice this week while in town for business. Would give six stars if I could.

    Overall, had a very good experience at moon Rabbit! The only small thing, I received a text 10 min before my reservation time saying my table was ready and asking if I was on my way. I replied immediately that I was on the way and arrived a couple minutes before my reservation time. When we arrived, we were told my table was not ready yet and it would be ready in 10 min. I understand things like this happen, so it didn’t make or break our experience, but something worth noting!
