Moro restaurant in London’s Exmouth Market may retain its reputation as one of the hippest restaurants in one of the hippest parts of the capital, but this Clerkenwell restaurant still focuses more on good food than its own image. Moro’s décor with its polished wooden floors, long zinc bar, open view to the kitchen and its charcoal grill and wood-burning oven, is functional and welcoming. Cuisine of the southern Mediterranean, from the Iberian Peninsula into Northern Africa, is the menu’s exclusive province.

Food and service very good but noise level high ( I’m not deaf!), and it was very difficult to talk to our companions. Acoustics are not good. Also we were positioned opposite entrance so people had to go past us entering and exiting with not much room to spare. I gather a weekday night might be better but we don’t live in London.

Really enjoyable experience. Relaxed atmosphere with attentive service. Food has huge depth of flavour. Worth a detour.

Food was fine (not remarkable) but evening was spoiled by being asked to vacate our table after 1hr 45mins. Didn't know there was a time limit (no doubt will be in the small print somewhere) but a reminder on arrival would have been helpful. Disappointing Valentine's evening.

One of the few London restaurants that has earned my “consistently excellent” accolade. Really, it’s so good.

This was my first visit to Moro. The food was delicious if a little expensive. I had the baked cod which was cooked perfectly and the fish was very fresh. There is a great wine list with a good selection. The restaurant was quite noisy as it was full. Some of the tables seemed a bit close but it didn’t impinge on the evening.

Friendly and relaxed restaurant with a small but excellent menu and an extensive wine list. Great for friends and family dinners.
