   I had high expectations for Morris Jones’ Sip & Sushi experience, but unfortunately, it fell flat. The pricing is extremely steep for what you actually get, making it feel more like a money grab than a premium dining experience. The service was lackluster—staff seemed disinterested and inattentive. As for the ambiance, there really wasn’t any. Instead of a lively, buzzing atmosphere, the venue was nearly empty, with only about seven people dining. The excessively loud music felt like a distraction rather than a vibe, making conversation difficult and the overall experience even less enjoyable. For the price point, I expected much better. Definitely not worth it—there are far better places in Melbourne for sushi and cocktails.

   Good service. Good food. We have the tuna tartare, scallops in miso butter, waggu carpaccio, kingfish cervice and steak special. All of it was great.

   Food and drinks were delicious and the venue was fun. We booked for the bottomless deal and service was very slow, we noticed that the server was mainly checking in on one table and we were having to go up to the bar to be served.

   I’d heard good things but it was so disappointing. Slow staff who don’t seem to like their jobs at all. Food was mediocre AND expensive. Maybe it’s a good place to have a drinkAND one nibble but don’t go for a meal

   We came for dinner to order from the new Menu that we were excited to try. We really wanted to try the octopus but that wasn’t available on the day we came in. We also noticed the Menu was quite different to what we read online. The dessert we wanted quinoa sorbet wasn’t available as well. It wasn’t a great experience.

   The music here is pretty loud (feels like a nightclub, even at 5pm on a Sunday) so it’s hard to have a normal conversation. There was also party upstairs (a big group of male strippers apparently) that were super loud (like literally chanting and yelling)which made it almost unbearable at times. Considered leaving multiple times, especially as we had 30min periods where we couldn’t get the attention of the wait staff. I ended up going to the bar to order food and drinks.

   The waitress who served us absolutely made our experience. I’m not sure if her name but I think she was French. She was kind, friendly and very welcoming. The food was delicious and it was great value to get in with the happy hour cocktails! Opting for the courtyard out front isn’t something I usually do but considering it had been a 30 degree day, it was a balmy night so it was lovely. Overall, great experience!

    A great experience all round, the food was really enjoyable, I particularly liked the spanner crab taquito for an entree and the short rib for our main.
