OpenTable 編集部より： Chef-and-somm brothers Oliver and Nicolas Poilevey's parents opened Chicago's beloved Le Bouchon, so there was already a ton of buzz when the brothers debuted Obélix in 2022. With black-and-white floors, burgundy banquettes, and a name borrowed from the beloved Gallic comic books, the vibe here is definitely more fun than fussy. Indulgent dishes like beef Wellington, aged duck breast, and foie gras macarons have helped the restaurant and the brothers score James Beard Award nominations and a place atop Chicago Magazine's best new restaurants list in 2023.

Good cocktails and wines by the glass. Escargot, fresh green salad, onion soup were good starters. Chicken & fish (loup de mer) entrees were cooked/prepared perfectly. Ordered sides of macaroni gratin & fries, but these were forgotten and arrived late after the entrees - former was delicious. Dessert of their special souffle very nice. Service tried to be professional & friendly, but we felt rushed to order upon arrival, ie. not given any time to even look at the cocktail list or wine list. Our table location was optimal to hear what the service staff had to say among themselves. Have been a longtime huge fan of Le Bouchon, La Sardine, Chez Moi and Mon Ami Gabi; Obelix is at another level, specializing in duck & dishes for two guests.

Great place with very good food and incredible value. Wonderful service as well. Caviar macaroons are a must.

Quiet and beautiful place, pretty good service and perfect food, really love the black truffle twist. A perfect place to go with friends for a chill weekend morning.

Obelix is easily one of the best restaurants in the city. John being the bar and the general manager Patrick are incredible. Had some people from out of town in and they were blown away. Excellent restaurant and dining experience

Food was excellent. Would definitely return based on taste and portions. Could improve on overall course timing. We waited 30+ mins between when we finished our apps and when our mains were served.

My reservation was for a party of 4 but ended up just 2 last minute. No sweat for the hostess that received me. Oh, and my guest was 15 minutes late! Again she was perfect. Our server was professional, suggested a fantastic burgundy for my duck and was helpful when I decided to order a to go meal for my son. (we sat at table 22, I asked the food runner). Ambiance was great, my short stay at the bar the bartender was friendly. An overall very pleasant evening. Thank you!

Everything was outstanding: Oysters, Steak Tartare, Mushroom Pasta, Striped Bass, Chicken, Leeks + Frites, Desserts! Lots of GF options! Request a corner table for a larger group (4+).
