Oceans, a locally and globally inspired seafood restaurant, was founded by Vancouver’s award-winning Toptable Group with the philosophy of creating a timeless and approachable dining experience. Executive Chef Andy Kitko sets the vision for the menu inspired by the Pacific, Atlantic, and Mediterranean shores that will feature the freshest catches available all accented by seasonal ingredients.

    From start to finish, this was a really wonderful experience. We arrived early and had drinks at the bar. The greeting staff and the bartender made us feel welcome and valued as guests. The atmosphere here was impressive. The high ceilings, lovely bar and modern but comfortable decor created a warm feeling. We were seated on time for dinner and found the menu to have so many excellent choices that we struggled to decide what to order. We had the seafood tower and added lobster and it was just amazing. They serve a house made focaccia bread that is perfect. Our server was friendly and warm and charming and told us about the specials and gave us time to decide and to talk and answered all of my questions about portion size and how many sides to order. The langoustine special was incredible, my fish dish was perfect. Everyone loved their food and the portions were very generous and perfectly prepared. Throughout the evening bussers filled water glasses and removed plates and were so inobtrusive we hardly noticed when they had come by. We never felt rushed and were never in a position to "look" for our server. I should mention that our initial reservation was for three people and when two more people asked to come, I called the restaurant having no expectation of success on short notice but was able to make the reservation for 5 with an insignificant time change. This type of accommodation and consideration is uncommon and was greatly appreciated. The bathrooms are just beyond what I expected, beautiful and modern with electronic toilets with heated seats. The attention to details regarding decor service and food made this restaurant a truly exceptional experience. We all decided we would like to return and try more of the menu options.

    All of the food was amazing. The ambience was great. We were sat toward the back in a nice and relatively quiet area, which was great for a party of 6. Only issue was that we seemed to be forgotten for a bit by the wait staff, but overall was a great experience.

    I was very disappointed with my dinner at Oceans tonight. I made the reservation four weeks in advance and specifically requested a particular server. I even called ahead to confirm the reservation and mentioned the request again. Despite this, when I arrived, I was seated in another server’s section, which was incredibly frustrating. The service itself was slow and disorganized. Our appetizers arrived at different times and were staggered. Empty plates were left sitting on the table far too long, and the server wasn’t attentive with drinks — my empty Diet Coke glass sat untouched for 30 minutes, and my colleague was never asked if she wanted a refill. When our entrées finally came, no one checked to see if the food was good. I brought my concerns to the front desk during dinner, hoping for some improvement. After finishing our entrées, we waited again with empty plates in front of us until I had to ask for the check. I expressed my disappointment to the manager, noting that I’ve been a regular customer and have referred many people to Oceans. Despite this, the bill was presented without any adjustment. It was only as I was leaving — after explaining my experience again — that the manager finally took off a round of drinks. The entire experience was embarrassing and disappointing. In a city like New York, with so many excellent dining options, this kind of forgettable service simply isn’t worth the price. I’m not feeling inclined to return anytime soon.

    Prefer New England style lobster roll that has no mayo. Roll was excellent Mashed potatoes were excellent. Alaskan black cod was okay Excellent ice cream Fabulous service.

    Excellent food and our server was tremendous. We loved the ceviche and the grilled octopus as starters. The black cod was probably the best I’ve had. Great vibes. The only complaint I’d have would be the temperature of the dining room - it was chilly. It wouldn’t stop me from going there again…

    My piece of halibut could not have been any smaller. And it was not cooked very well. Other food items were good. But the minuscule portion of 4 munchkins is a joke. Balls of fried dough. Come on. Give people a proper portion.
