Ochre is an all day dining bar and restaurant located in The National Gallery, on London's iconic Trafalgar Square.
Celebrating the finest produce Britain has to offer with a focus on provenance, seasonality and traceability.

Come and enjoy the lively cocktail bar before sitting down in the main dining room over looking St Nelson Column after wandering around The National Gallery or going to the theatre in neighbouring Covent Garden.

    To be honest, I booked Ochre out of convenience, since we would be at the National Gallery for the (excellent) exhibit of Van Gogh: Poets & Lovers. But we're happy we did it: it turned out to be an excellent dinner, in all aspects! The ambience was carefully customized to the exhibit, with sunflowers everywhere, including a drinks' menu inspired by Van Gogh's work - we had the "Red Vineyards" and the "White Field with Cypresses", both excellent, see the pics. But besides that, the service was excellent and really attentive (our waiter, for instance, rushed to execute our drinks order 3 minutes before the end of the happy hour, giving us an instant 50% discount). And the food was *really* great! We had white beans & sausage dish (me) and a ravioli (my wife) that were just great. Amazing night, we didn't expect to be so happily satisfied with the meal! Recommended on its own, with or without the museum visit!

    The service was considerate & efficient. We had a charming young Hungarian waiter who made our visit very pleasant.

    We had a pre theatre meal at Ochre and what a lovely way to start our evening. From the ambience to the smiling friendly staff and the lovely food everything was so so good. We will definitely came back again! Loved it!!

    Returning to Ochre (inside the National Gallery) and we think the restaurant has got even better! Very nice staff, creative menu. Recommended!

    A great experience let down by the limited time window. When you consider our meal was a five course experience an hour thirty to enjoy it just isn't practical. To that end we didn't get our desserts, which they offered to box, but this was far from ideal. Given it was a £200 meal for two I'd expect at least two hours which would have been more fitting.
