Lovely venue for a great dining experience. Food is excellent & the service from the kitchen is quick and of highest quality. Staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. The experience would be improved if there was some light background music but that’s to not everyone’s liking. Highly recommended.

All meals are half price are half price at lunch service between 12pm and 2pm, which was a lovely surprise. Although we had booked and had confirmation it was showing as cancelled but we're able to eat in pub. Food was exceptional, service and staff faultless and lovely ambience with no music! As in pub area no hurry to move us on and exactly same food served with same level of service.

Super surroundings. Lovely efficient and pleasant staff. Excellent food and a great selection of drinks. Always a pleasure to eat here.

Always love this place really good food chef cooked not typical pub food, good value for money, pleasant staff. Well worth the 40mins drive to, in a peaceful local stone village. Can’t wait to our next visit

"Old" country pub tastefully modernised, very pleasant service. Restaurant is a nice room, tastefully modernised. Menu for lunch is fairly tight which is always a good sign. Calamari was fresh, the belly pork pieces in a "Chinese" style sauce was a good way of serving. Pheasant was excellent, as was the Venison suet pudding (though a little overheated making some crust a little hard). Sticky Date pudding was light, very flavourful and the butternut sauce and Ice cream great accompaniments. The Winter Ale was lovely pint. The January 50% off offer meant that as well as being very enjoyable it was exceptional value for money.

It was the New Years Eve set menu and it was superb, particularly the rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection! A lovely team also added to the experience who couldn’t do enough for us.
