Robbie Lorraine has opened his long awaited permanent Only Food and Courses restaurant at the Cheshire Cheese pub! The hidden gem is based just off the Strand and is the evolution of Lorraine’s unique dining concept, initially launched in a 30ft steel container in Brixton. First opening in 2021, the restaurant received rave reviews (from Jay Rayner no less) and became a firm favourite with restaurant go-ers. Offering a modern twist on classic British food, Lorraine’s food plays on nostalgia from 80s and 90s pop culture, offering his lobster doughnuts, duck eclairs along with his take on ham, egg and chips, chicken and waffles, as well as millionaire’s shortbread. In the intimate dinning room they only serve a blind six-course tasting menu and through out the day there are snacks available from the bar downstairs.
Sample 6 Course Tasting Menu: £75. Sittings (pre-booking only). Dinner 6pm-8pm and 8pm-10pm. We only serve tasting menus in our restaurant. Changing monthly, our delicious tasting menus are inspired by popular culture and culinary trends from the 80s and 90s, using the best seasonal produce available to create modern versions of things that we used to eat. This is all served in our restaurant in the upstairs dining room of the pub. Guests can get their chops around dishes such as Robbie's take on ham, egg and chips; beef and onions; prawn cocktail; cauliflower cheese; beetroot Bakewell and millionaires shortbread
