   We really wanted to like it. We did. But we just couldn't believe it ... What's the hype about? 2 x Bloody Marys 1x pinot gris 1 x flat white x 1 cold brew 2 x omelettes 1 x bresaola & stracciatella 1 x bacon and 1 x latke The Bloody Marys were sweet and just kind of odd. We added salt and pepper to them. Definitely needed acid as well, drinks list said lime, hardly. Asked waitstaff for Tobasco or Aleppo, never came. Better Bloody Marys at almost every other venue in the street. One folded omelette looked like it had gone in oven and was a bit of a souffle. Both had a weird scoop of cultured butter on the warm plate, which had melted like a pool between the omelette and the toast, on the pass under the heat lamps. Not on the bread. Apart from that, there was a handful of under-dressed lettuce leaves on the plate, which my partner thought, and I thought was odd for brunch. Bresaola- bread was on the side. So stracciatella is just on the plate, not like a beautiful breakfast bruschetta situation it sounds like. The egg was obviously boiled and quartered, set yolk, and was iced cold to touch. So I asked for another egg and it to be warm and soft. Was advised they will all be cold as they come straight out of an ice bath. An ice cold hard egg on straciatella? They don't do poached or sous vide eggs. The "soft eggs" are boiled. And that's OK, I get it, chefs don't want to have a poaching pot on all day. I really think that needs to be advertised on the menu. I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd known. I'm just one of those who can not stand a hard egg in any form, especially if it's offered as soft. So, I ordered a replacement galette crepe. Appreciated the quick replacement, but it was luke warm and had a handful of super bruised mint and hardly chopped herbs on top. Had potential that was missed. Latke - what's served is not a few latkes as a side, but is a slice of pommes pave. That was nice, but not even close to latkes. Won't be back.

   This is a new venue by the Terror Twilight team. Already starting to get busier, but that's because the food, coffee and ambience are on point. We've needed something like this down at the Westgarth end of High St, and I couldn't have been more impressed.

   Ophelia Cafe is an absolute gem! The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed lunch. The coffee is delicious, and the meals mouthwatering. The staff is friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!

   The standout was the miso butterscotch latte. Delish!! My bacon and egg breakfast roll was fairly average and the acoustics were deafening. Stressful even as an ND customer. I’ve been here before and sat on an outside table which was much more manageable sound wise. Service both times however was very kind, attentive and faultless.

   We had brunch. The ambience and ocerall experience was marred by the lack of staff. Yes it was busy and the staff did the best they could under the circumstances but the service was slow, very slow. I had the folded omelet with chorizo and chard and it was excellent. My fiend had the scrambled eggs and they too were very goid. My latte was only 1/2 full and the coffee was weak. On the other hsbd my friend had a black coffee and it was so strobg and bitter it was almost undrinkable.(l poured some if her coffee into mine to offset the shortcomings of my latte)! In a coffee-driven Northcote, this is not good! I will give it another go at a quieter time and hope for improvements.

   Great atmosphere for an afternoon or evening bar. Food average. Waited a while at the door before any of the staff passing me even looked in my direction.

   Attentive, friendly service with staff who take the time to explain things well. Very willing to please. The salads were fresh and well dressed. The smoked trout on the side was super tasty and perfect texture. My only complaint was the noise level, but I'm an old bat, the young people probably think its atmospheric.

    I had been wanting to come here since I heard it had opened and I started following it on insta. I didn't try the miso butterscotch latte like I had intended- That will need to keep until another day. The galette I ordered was delicious and everyone else at my table's food looked fantastic. Service was friendly and efficient. One of the wait staff kindly offered to pull out the awning to give us shade as we were seated outside in the full sun. Thanks again it was a refreshing experience.
