    Our server was fabulous—knowledgeable, friendly, attentive—We couldn’t ask for more. Food was clearly up to the standards we have come to expect at Osteria Marco. A thoroughly enjoyable experience!

    The food, atmospher and service were all excellent. What I did NOT like was being surprised to see on the bill an item called "CHP fee 22%" and $11.44 charged on my $52.00 meal. I asked our server what that was for she said that was for tips and tha half of that 22% went to the kitchen staff and the rest was divided among the rest of the restaurant staff. So our server, who worked very hard, would probably end up getting LESS than 11% as a tip by the time it was divided amongst the others. I then asked about the second line under the 22% tip that said "additional tip". She said that if I added money on that line all of that would go to her and her alone. Having been a waitress years ago in college I know how servers rely on tips to survive. So because she did a great job, and I felt terrible for her, I did add some more money but in the end I tipped about 30%%!!! Osteria Marco needs to tell customers IN ADVANCE that (a) there is a MINIMUM tip of 22% REGARDLESS of the food or service and (b) that they will be GUILTED into paying more than the 22% because the server was being stiffed. The restaurant is a very successful one and the owners are well off and should be paying their people better and not force tips or guilt customers into paying an exhorbitant amount for tips. If it means raising prices, then so be it. But at least the customers would know IN ADVANCE how much it was going to cost them to eat there. How dare they surprise us with a forced 22% !!! I will never eat here again.

    Food isn't bad, slightly pricey. We were there celebrating and I called/messaged the restaurant a few times to ensure they knew so that our desert could have "Congrats" on it, after multiple conversations and attempts they failed to even do it (with us purchasing 2 deserts), super disappointing

    Sat for service a few times, from initial seating to waiting for entrees after starter and salad. Nothing horrible but definitely not up to the usual Bonanno standard. Conversely, check-in was far friendlier than previous visits here and the samples upon entering were a very nice, and first-time for us here, touch. Value is very good for the quality, the plating and the portions and overall, a very good pre-theatre dinner.

    Long term customers and we enjoyed out time but for what we got it was way too expensive so much so we thought they had made a mistake!
