A locally owned Madison favorite, Otto's is set in a beautifully restored 1870s stone farm house with two dining levels. The menu features creative, Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, fresh seafood, Certified Angus Beef steaks and more. A friendly lower-level bar serves classic cocktails and fine wines, and half-price appetizers from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. Tuesday – Friday. Outdoor dining and live jazz are featured on the deck Spring through Fall, weather permitting. Otto's is also open the first Monday of each month (excluding holidays) in the Spring and Summer when live music is being performed. Main level dining area is wheelchair accessible. Online reservations are available for the dining rooms only, bar and deck table reservations should be made via telephone. Reservations are recommended for dining in the bar, outdoors, and inside for parties of 6 or more. In the event your party is unable to attend, please contact us by phone to cancel your reservation.

Reservations were hard to come by for Valentine’s Day. We sat at a high top in the bar which was surprisingly nice (usually bar tops are small and the area so noisy) and had large amount of space. The bar was quieter (only a few tables occupied) than the upstairs dining until the occasional noisy group would come down for an after dinner drink. We waited initially for some time for a server to greet us and provide a drink menu but then the service was prompt and very nice. The food was delicious. Very pricey. We look forward to coming back on a regular menu night or during the summer for a patio experience. The drinks were strong, we prefer taste over burn but I know others don’t. So take that feedback as you will. We will definitely be back.

We arrived early enough to stop at the bar and order a bottle of wine to share, and were able to take it to the table for dinner. Reservations for dinner at 6:15, seated as such, in the upper level in a corner. It appeared that the hostess/maitre'd forgot to tell the server about us being in her area, so besides a busser that gave us water upon sitting down, no one checked on us for over 30 minutes. The staff realized the error on their own without input from us, and server (who was clearly not at fault in the least) not only offered us a free app of our choice to make up for it, but the bartender came all the way upstairs and provided us a $25 gift card to use upon our next visit near the end of the meal. They went above and beyond to make it right, again with no complaints from either of us at any point. Food was fantastic, had a hard time choosing just one entree.

One of our friends is unable to navigate stairs well and we were seated on the top floor of the building. I asked if we could have a table on the main level and was told no, they were all full. That was not an acceptable answer. She had to struggle up the stairs with my help and was in pain. When reservations are made, there should be a way to ask if there are any people who have issues with stairs.

We came to Otto’s for my 80th birthday dinner! The food and service was wonderful! It is our favorite restaurant for special occasions and we have never been disappointed. It’s also fun to eat in the bar area. Highly recommend!!
