Ōwa is a return home for Sushi and Japanese cuisine on Abbot Kinney. The culinary program showcases a modern take on sushi favorites and other Japanese classics using from-scratch recipes and fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The spirit center of Ōwa is an artful balance of light, floral Japanese Gins and bold Japanese whiskeys. With appearances of shōchū, yuzu, an extensive sake selection, and Japanese beer heroes, Ōwa’s beverage offerings would not be complete without several tequila and mezcal tributes that pay homage to the Mexican roots of Los Angeles. Between superb cuisine, cocktails, heart-centered experiences and the impassioned experts behind it all, Ōwa keeps the heart of restaurant culture beating in Los Angeles, starting in the holistic and tightly knit community of Venice Beach.

    Food was yummy but nothing crazy enough to warrant the price. The place has a nice ambiance and we had a good time, but you can probably find equal quality food for cheaper.

    Fabulous!! Big undulating bar that is able to accommodate a lot of people, enjoyed the energy in this section of the restaurant while waiting for our table. Upbeat music. A nice surprise to see the depth of the restaurant walking past the bar. There is a middle section with a great fireplace and a few tables with a warm ambience. Past the fireplace area are more tables and the sushi bar at the back. Food and drinks were amazing. We loved the spicy tuna crispy rice… A must try! Overall, a fantastic spot in the heart of Abbott Kinney🤩

    Definitely a new spot to go to! I hadn't been even though I'm local and it's very lively and I absolutely love the sushi and cocktail selection. Will be back more often! :)

    SENSATIONAL as always!! The freshest ingredients and flavors balanced to perfection. We had soul roll, miso black cod, wagu nigiri, truffle crispy rice and scallop sashimi. The quality and unique flavor combinations carry over to the cocktails. You can’t order wrong at Ōwa. We sat in the patio for dinner then moved to the bar to end the night out. We went on Friday so there was a DJ after dinner, it’s perfect night out.

    Overall food is mediocre, can get really busy because of the location, but the decor is cool. I wouldn't waste your money here.

    Waited over 45 minutes for our food to come out after ordering. According to our waiter, the "kitchen [was] a mess."

    They didn’t have any Japanese beer available. Additionally, the sushi rolls were mediocre - too much sauce not like traditional sushi.
