It’s a nice clean restaurant. Service is lacking. We walked in, nobody greeted us. Just a waiter on the other side of the restaurant waving us in. We choose a table and sat. Waiter seemed nice at first but then changed his whole attitude after we placed our order. I asked for a drink menu and when I put it down, he never asked me if I’d like something to drink. We were a family of 4, well dressed and kids well behaved. I could see the waiters talking about us literally 10-15 feet away while leaning on the bar and using their cellphones. The food was just ok. Very nice plate presentation but taste was not as nice as the food looked, mostly bland/missing salt or lemon or something. When ordering for my kids (penne arabiata pasta) I asked them not to make it spicy and ONLY pasta with sauce, nothing else on the pasta. I made him repeat it to me and he did. When the kids pasta came it had green parsley or oregano all over it. If you know kids, you know they don’t like seeing anything extra in their food…so we had to take it all out so they would eat. Once we got our food nobody came to the table to check on us at all. When we were done our food it was at least 10-15 minutes before anyone came to clean the plates away. I asked for the bill because at this point I couldn’t understand what all the great reviews were about. He brought the bill and I paid in cash (3000 Egyptian pounds) which to anyone living in Europe or North America it’s not a lot of money but in Egypt, it’s a lot for a dining experience. I asked for the pasta to be taken away and then when I settled the bill I asked for take out cutlery. He opened the bill and looked at the cash and then proceeded to count it rather than grab my cutlery. Almost like he was worried that we would leave and the money wasn’t the right amount. At the end of it all, I think this restaurant has a chance to be a great one. Training needs to be held for staff and attention to detail is most important.
