The rich flavors of Greece come to life at Pappas Taverna. With a diverse menu featuring traditional Greek eats with a modern approach, guests can indulge in live wood-fire cooked meats & fish and small plates prepared with the utmost care. The large space, inspired in design by the coastlines of Greece, features two bustling bars, block-to-block dining rooms & private dining areas that transport you to the Mediterranean. Pappas New York is located on the historic MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village.

I recently celebrated my birthday here and the service was terrible. My group was predominantly african American. We had reservations for 11:15 pm and was not seated until 12 AM. Our food was served cold, and dishes were not passed out to the proper guest. We also did not receive any form of entertainment. When we requested sparklers we were denied, and had to beg for just two. Despite seeing the table next to us, which consisted of white guests, receive theirs. The staff did not check on us throughout the night. Overall experience was horrible.

Pappas immediately got a star because I was running 45 mins late but my friend got there on time and so Pappas decided to seat her so she can pre game until I got there - thank you because that place IS CROWDED ! The wait, the people that walk in …. Its CRAZY . The food was DELICIOUS. The fish was flaky, tasty . I would totally go back

It’s was a nice experience. The service wasn’t the best but I think it was because it was a busy Saturday night.

The waiter forgot orders we were in the back honestly forgotten about. took so long for a shot or even the check. my lobster was so chewing….

It was amazing we went for a friends birthday and she loved it !!! Overall a great time, wonderful staff, the music was always on point, belly dancer was beautiful, the food was impeccable we all had ordered something different and it was all delicious. We will definitely be coming back for another occasion.

Pappas was so fun! I do wish we went on a Friday when there are dancers, but the music was fun and we loved the playlist. The atmosphere, food and service were all excellent and we can't wait to go back!

If I could give half a star, I would. It is absolutely absurd to charge somebody New York City high-end restaurant prices when you’re putting tablecloths over a plastic folding table. We were crammed in so tight that I was essentially sitting at the table next to us and having full conversation with them also. The food was fine. The wait staff was nice and attentive. I would not go back. You would not suggest for my friends that are over 21 years old either.
