In the bar. A really nice place to have a drink, but found the range of drinks (although long) was limited. E.g. Lots of Gin, but lacking in variety of flavours. Just a list if brand names with little explanation. Found the music to start getting very loud after an hour, so couldn't hear the conversation. Restaurant Food was OK, but not special enough to warrant the prices. £52 to share a pie that was served in a bowl so only had a top crust. Even that top crust was 'stuck' to the bowl so couldn't be eaten. Idea sounds nice, but had much nicer food at this price elsewhere.

Two wobbly tables and some servers more attentive than others. Food was good but not convinced by the sauce with the plaice.

Very very overrated. Portion size is tiny. I didn't even eat my pork chop because how small it was. At least they didn't charge me for it, but definitely don't recommend

Lovely afternoon tea - couldn’t fault it. Our only problem was that I booked afternoon tea via the open table link but when we arrived the booking was for lunch. Fortunately the hotel managed to do us afternoon tea and it was lovely - a real treat.

Went there for dinner the food and general atmosphere was excellent. We were disappointed by the service, we were waiting for a long time to even get our orders. Our reservation was for 19:30 and we only got our main dishes at 21:15, waiting times were extremely long and in general the service felt a bit unprofessional. Waiters were friendly and nice in general.

We had a very nice evening at Parkers Tavern everything was pretty spot on. After a minor moan at my chewy main dish, it was dealt with very professionally & another dish offered to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Parkers we had an enjoyable fun night out.

The library is a quiet place to have a drink. The main bar has music, buzz and is noisy. The dining room has only the sound of energetic conversation. You therefore have good choices. The food is generally good but the portion control is a little on the mean side. For example the pork chop was delicious but you had to look hard to find the celeriac and apple mash. I never found the crispy sage. The cheesecake is nothing like the heavy cheesecake with a biscuit base that you often find the shops, so don't be put off by the name. It is lighter and a hundred times more delicious. I think its inspiration comes from Spain. I recommend it.

This was a very disappointing experience. It was a Valentine's Day special menu. From sitting down at the table to the arrival of the starter took exactly 59 minutes, broken only by a tiny serving of an onion consomme (no more than 2 tablespoonfuls). Clearly the kitchen was overwhelmed but no-one thought to apologize for the long, long delay. The rest of the meal was slightly faster, a mere 30 minutes between starter and main course. When I spoke to one of the managers and asked him how long the starter should take to arrive, he said 'Ten minutes'. When I said how long it had taken, he said 'Oh' and wandered away. The only bright spot of service was as I was paying: the senior manager who took the payment asked how it had been and , when I told him, he reduced the bill substantially, without my even having suggested anything like that. Food quality fairly good but we won't be back.
