We were intrigued by photos online; however, when we arrived, we found it to be much smaller than expected. The seating area was right off of the hotel lobby. There was no one to greet us into the restaurant. I waited a few minutes at the bar, while two staff were behind the bar chatting about some restaurant items (would have liked to at least be acknowledged with a "we'll be right with you.") The temperature was muggy (it was a hot day, but it should not feel muggy and stuffy, especially in an open area. There was a gentleman playing guitar, in a Cardinals jersey. It felt much more low brow than, again, the price point and photos allude to. The clientele eating were in gym shorts and tshirts - mostly families with children. On top of everything, just to eat at the restaurant, you had to valet - it was $48 to valet! The hotel concierge said we would receive no discount or validation for eating in the restaurant. That alone made us leave. We ate at the Beverly Hills Hotel 3 weeks ago, and they validated 50% our valet so we only had to pay $25. The iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. In Beverly Hills. This "Hilton" brand hotel in the middle of "Cardinals Nation" is charging me $48? Absolutely not. Thank goodness the valet was not working well either that day - my husband sat in the valet drive-up for 10 minutes and no one came to check-in our vehicle. We ended up leaving before anyone ever came around.
We were really excited to visit and support a new-ish St. Louis eatery, but this was not the place to be. Bummer.
