Chester’s historic beauty and unique atmosphere make it one of the UK’s most popular places to visit. This ancient city is a must for history-lovers: walk the Roman walls following in the footsteps of Roman soldiers, and visit the largest Amphitheatre in Britain. It makes sense that with all that Roman history, Chester is also home to one of the area’s best Italian restaurants, Piccolino!
Piccolino, an authentic Italian Restaurant, is a proud fixture of the Chester dining scene. Located on Pepper Street, Piccolino in Chester boasts an open kitchen, cocktail bar, and wine boutique. Piccolino is also home to Chester’s very first Prosecco bar and alfresco terrace.
We visit the regions, meet the producers and are committed to sourcing the best quality ingredients. At Piccolino, passion for provenance is at the forefront of our menu, which incorporates the best and freshest seasonal produce, Italian cheeses, meat and seafood, all delivering pure classic Italian flavours.

    food and service very good. I had booked a table and we where seated imediatly we arrived all in all a very enjoyable experiance.

    Early evening meal for a family birthday celebration. Restaurant was quiet as it was early, so atmosphere low key. Excellent food and service, topped of by staff putting a birthday candle on my sons Tiramisu - a nice touch. Overall very good, a really enjoyable dinner

    Positives: Everyone enjoyed their food! Bar staff were good. Not so good: wait staff - lots of staff but no service at the table. Waited over 30 mins and ended up having to get up and go ask someone to order mains. Then the exact same thing for dessert. And then the exact same issue when trying to pay! Based on the service I would not recommend and was a bit embarrassed as the person who had made the booking.

    The food was excellent, especially the chicken livers on sourdough as a starter, and the ravioli with crab meat and prawns. The wine was a little in the expensive side, but acceptable as the restaurant has to cover a lot of expenses to cover, particularly in today’s financial climate. The staff were great, couldn’t have been better. I would highly recommend the restaurant.

    Long wait for food, no communication between the staff. We got asked the same questions over and over again. Waited nearly an hour for our food. Poor quality of dishes. Some arrogant staff.

    Nice Place, staff excellent, slightly disappointed with the food, bill with drinks was fine, will I go again ? Yes but need to study the menu more.
