Chester’s historic beauty and unique atmosphere make it one of the UK’s most popular places to visit. It makes sense that with all that Roman history, Chester is also home to one of the area’s best Italian restaurants, Piccolino!
Piccolino, an authentic Italian Restaurant, is a proud fixture of the Chester dining scene. Located on Pepper Street, Piccolino in Chester boasts an open kitchen, cocktail bar, and wine boutique. Piccolino is also home to Chester’s very first Prosecco bar and alfresco terrace.
We visit the regions, meet the producers and are committed to sourcing the best quality ingredients. Food was lovely ; 2 of us had pasta, and one had gluten-free pizza and chocolate tart. Service was good, and lighting made for a lovely ambience. A glass of wine for £14.50 was a bit of a shock. Toilets are upstairs and quite a distance for one of the guests. Not sure if disabled downstairs but couldn't see it. Good night but quite expensive.

Our experience at Piccolinos -Chester is always of the highest quality . The staff are always warm and welcoming and although it’s becoming incrementally more expensive-the food is always of the highest quality both in taste and presentation.

The food was lovely although having spent some time being clear I was vegetarian and gluten free, my meal was announced as pasta with chicken, to which I said, I don’t eat chicken and then the waitress said, sorry, pasta with salmon. I then reminded her I had ordered a vegetarian pasta and she said yes - it’s vegetarian. This made me very suspicious as to what I was eating and I sought the assurance of the head guy. To be fair, it was exactly what I ordered and was delicious but I could have done without the drama.

It sounds like the server may have mistakenly referred to the dish as chicken pasta, which was an error in communication, not in preparation. Your meal was indeed vegetarian and gluten-free, marked with a bamboo purple stick for dietary assurance, and prepared exactly as requested. Friendly but slow service. Food was good but appetizers are not shareable size. Salad sizes not consistant.

Greeting wasn’t as expected & although booked were told no current table & pointed towards large table bar area to wait. No drinks offered during wait . A table was then offered but in front of door which meant during meal coats on as door constantly open & close. Had to ask for drink service at table . Food was delicious but overall experience not as expected. Don’t feel at this point that we would return soon .

Food and services very good , the experience was spoilt by babies and young children out of control by woke parents c in there 50s , with no idea how to control unruly brats

Very over crowded & running behind, obviously booked too many people in. Tables places way too close to other tables Food cold & very very over priced for what we received Steak cold in the middle, no steak knife Pasta was cold & sloppy & very fishy tasting Waited a long time between courses Because of the amount of people it was very noisy Food was not worth the price we paid Probably won’t return
