Liverpool is, of course, the city famed for being the birthplace of The Beatles, but there’s so much more to the city than just that. Liverpool boasts stunning architecture, vibrant nightlife, and the buzzing district of Alberts Dock which is packed with galleries, museums, bars and restaurants. Liverpool is also a foodie’s paradise with plenty of unique dining options around the city.
Piccolino, an authentic Italian Restaurant, is a proud fixture of the Liverpool dining scene. Piccolino is located on Cook Street and boasts an open kitchen and a small but perfectly formed alfresco terrace.
Italy’s diverse cuisine is the heart and soul of Piccolino. We visit the regions, meet the producers and are committed to sourcing the best quality ingredients. Our passion for provenance is at the forefront of our menu, which incorporates the best and freshest seasonal produce, Italian cheeses, meat and seafood, all delivering pure classic Italian flavours.

The food was delicious, service was a bit slow simply because they were so busy, but definitely worth the wait.

The food was amazing. Pollo al Tarfuto is a lovely dish. Let down was that we arrived on time and had to wait 15 min. When seated we were seated directly where the waiters go in and out from the bar area, we got barged and nudged past every 2 mins from staff running around like headless chickens. Whilst the starters were also lovely it took almost half an hour to 40 mins for the mains to follow the starter which was bizarre. Nevertheless the mains were lovely. The decor of the restaurant does not make sense compared to normal piccolino restaurants. It looks like they purchased an old Wetherspoons and re named it. Overall the food was lovely but the staff certainly need to be trained on etiquette on creating a luxurious ambiance while people dine.

We were sat at a table between bar and service area. It was like a dual carriage way with staff in and out close to us all the time. We asked to get moved but were told no other tables available. We had booked three days in advance so we can’t understand how we were sat there. Overall the food was good except that the potatoes were away over cooked and the sea bass seemed as if it had been left sitting and then reheated Tough and tasteless. The starter was excellent and the other meal also very good. Dessert was excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient.

Table not ready on arrival. Menu not completely available. Service took a long time initially and between courses. One of the meals luke warm.

Tables were too close together Chairs sunken so low to the table Food was beautiful but they’d sold out of quite a few things and it was only 7pm sat evening Very noisy in the restaurant . I complained that our table was in the main walkway through the restaurant but they were unable to move us . I didn’t like positioning of our table and the device was mediocre . Staff couldn’t really be bothered I felt. Food was exceptional Wine wasn’t cold enough I don’t usually leave negative reviews but too many negative points to the visit verses only one positive being the quality of the food
