This wonderful inn is located in the centre of the pretty little village of Pooley Bridge, only moments from the edge of Ullswater Lake. Our spacious, traditional bar features open fires, free WIFI and a relaxing ambiance, which welcomes both dogs and children. On warmer days, enjoy our pleasant outside tables both in our beautiful front garden, and the peace of the Stable Courtyard away from the village bustle. Call us or pop in and say hello!

I dined here on New Year’s Day with my husband and two friends. We were looking for somewhere dog-friendly that did good food and Pooley Bridge completely fitted the bill. We had a great table, lovely food and friendly service. Thank you.

We have been here several times and we’d always go back, good food at a good price! Only down side is the guy who comes over and bluntly tells you he needs the table back, I’m sure there’s a nice way of asking when you’ve just spent a good amount of money at the table, I appreciate they need the table back but a gentle reminder rather than a blunt demand is better. The waiting staff are lovely and the service and food is ace so won’t put us off coming and spending our money here again!

We love this pub! We have been several times for food and also just for a post walk drink. The food is always amazing; the menu has something for everyone and service is excellent! I would advise booking if you want to eat. If you're not a fan of dogs then you might want to give it a miss. Dogs are more welcome here than humans!

Really nice place something for everyone, dog friendly and also has a decent wine /beer selection. We had gammon and my husband had steak pie all piping hot proper & chunky chiips. . Reasonable price defiantly recommended

We've visited twice now and while the food has been good the service and attentiveness of the team has been limited and a bit disappointing
