A Berg Hospitality Group original concept, Prime 131 is a live-fire steakhouse and sushi bar within a revamped industrial space at The Docks at Timbergrove. Evoking the electric ambiance of New York’s chic yet edgy Meatpacking District in the early 90s, Prime 131 ignites a fresh dining experience in Houston where the artistry of grilling takes center stage.

A protein-forward concept with Korean and Japanese influence, Prime 131 creates a completely unique meat experience where diners watch their meal be prepared on four central wood fire grills and two Josper charcoal ovens. In addition, a full sushi bar and four Korean barbeque style tables offer curated experiences featuring some of the most exclusive cuts in the world.

Korean Grill Top Dining Experience at Prime 131

Our four exclusive, Korean grill top dining tables are sized for parties of 4-6. We are happy to accept parties of 2-3 at our first seating (4-5:30pm) or last seating (anytime after 9:30pm), but please call 713.840.1553 to reserve it with our host as we do not accept online reservations for parties under 4 guests. A cancellation fee of $50/guest will be applied if your reservation is canceled within 24 hours of your reservation seating time. If your party arrives late or is incomplete more than 15 minutes past the reservation time, we will try our best to accommodate you but may need to expedite your dining experience or reschedule it in order to honor the next reservation on the table.

I visited for a birthday dinner with a friend. Our server, Phillip, made wonderful suggestions for entrees and cocktails. He was consistent in checking in on our party, but not intrusive. The food was delicious, drinks were tasty and hit the mark. The entire experience was 10/10

We celebrated our 1-year anniversary at Prime 131 and it was perfect! The ambiance was elegant yet comfortable, and the food was exceptional. Gustavo, our waiter, made the evening unforgettable with his outstanding service and attention to detail. Highly recommend for a special occasion!

Love the look and feel of this place. Everything was fabulous. Only little hitch that upon arrival, the hostess was slammed so it was awkward. She took our name and then grabbed 4 cocktail menus and put them on a cart near the front desk and walked back to others entering. We just stood there for a few minutes. But once we were seated everything was awesome. Loved the flavors and presentations of all the dishes. My husband and kids got the fillets and they were cooked to perfection. The sauces they chose were really good and everyone raved about the loaded mashed potatoes!!

$500 bill. The steak was ever cooked first time and undercooked the second round. However, the sushi and lobster was amazing!! The desserts were good as well! Overall, I would go back order fish/seafood and dessert. For the same price you can get a much better steak at Pappas steakhouse

I frequent and love restaurants by Benjamin Berg (B&B Butcher, NoPo, Trattoria Sophia, BB Lemon, etc), and I was excited to try his high-end steakhouse and sushi restaurant Prime 131. I knew it was pricey and my expectations were high. My expectations weren't met. The food was notably above average and the service was just okay. These are not the results I think I deserved for a $1,000 bill (4 people), which included a mere 6 cocktails and no wine. Here's my list of notable issues. 1. I arrived 3 minutes before my reservation and waited 10 minutes to be seated while our table was being readied (party is 4). 2. When led to our table, it was prepped for 6. 3. The mocktails are uninspired and lack imagination. 4. The waiter was unenthusiastic and seemed unhappy about waiting tables. He said he's really a bartender. He also spent way too much time talking about himself. 5. We talked about ordering sourdough bread but the waited pointed out the dinosaur bone marrow came with the bread. So we ordered that. It arrived and was delicious. While enjoying it a good runner delivered an order of sourdough bread. We didn't order that. Our waiter wasn't paying attention. 6. It's really, really loud in this place. 7. After the bone marrow, we ordered some otoro, and three sushi rolls as second appetizers. The otoro was delivered, followed 5 minutes later by 2 of the 3 rolls. After 15 minutes and all of these were consumed, the last roll arrived. The rolls were for individuals, but the table. The waiter offered the excuse that the shrimp for the last roll has to be cooked in the kitchen and then delivered to the sushi bar for preparation. Huh? Not my problem. 8. Everyone enjoyed their steaks and they were cooked perfectly. 9. The mashed potatoes were the runniest I've ever seen. My son (23) was shocked and disappointed. 10. Their take on mac & cheese had pasta shells (2.5 inches long). I get pasta al dente, but these... Undercooked

The food and the service were amazing. Expect to spend about $150 to $200 per person, but it’s worth it.

Some of the dishes were not cooked well enough , the mac n cheese came out pretty cold temp vs it being hot off the skillet. Edamame was also more on the raw side vs softer. The seafood tower was great but menu states 6 shrimp and we got 3.

I was really looking forward to trying this spot out for some time. We had a reason to celebrate so I thought this would be a great time. Unfortunately, past the decor and ambiance, everything else fell short. Service was subpar, our drinks came out wrong at first, my steak wasn’t hot, and plates/glasses were left on the table for lengthy times. The madai didn’t seem fresh or tasty compared to other restaurants in the market. We even wanted wine with our entree and server didn’t even ask after our empty martini glasses sat on the table for the duration of meal. I will not be returning to this establishment, nor would I recommend to a friend. The grilled sourdough was the highlight.
