Pure South Dining is founded on philosophy of Ethical, Sustainable and Provenance driven produce, championing Tasmanian farmers, fishermen and small producers. The best in season produce is flown from the islands of King, Flinders & Tasmanian directly to our Southbank kitchen.

Pure South Dining offers our guests two dining options to suite any occasion.

The ground floor Pure South Kitchen is our casual riverside bistro offering classics from morning till late. Enjoy our Tassie produce without the fuss, while you look out to the Southbank promenade, sipping cocktails with friends.

Ascend the stairs to the Pure South Dining Room, for a modern fine dining experience, with stunning views of the Yarra River & Melbourne's skyline. Dine a la carte, or embark on a culinary journey with our six-course tasting menu. Our in house sommelier is on hand to guide you through our extensive wine list, with over 400 bottles highlighting Tassie Chardonnay & Pinot Noir.

Wouldn't bother again arinceny balls are taste less pork belly might as well have been a tin of pea and ham soup my wifes seafood pasta was tasteless and the prawns were like rubber beer was good

We are sorry to hear that the handmade arancini with blue cheese and the seafood marinara with lobster base were not your liking. We had a fantastic dinner. Our server was so good even though some of our party was late. They kept checking in for more drink orders and helped find what we needed from the extensive Tasmanian based drinks menu. Delicious

A very special night highlighted by a fantastic tasting menu of the highest quality. the service was impeccable - reliable & informative. the wines selected from the drinks menu were as described to us by the drinks person. the view from our table to the river outside added to the occasion. You pay for what you get - which is sensational food from Tasmania & Bass Strait.

Pure South has a really nice atmosphere and pace of serving. It’s relaxed without being too slow. It’s a place for long conversations with friends over a good food and drinks. Fantastic service, friendly staff and really good food. A well rounded drinks list with plenty of choice. We had a great dining experience surrounded by lovely views of the city, the Yarra, refreshed by the breeze flowing through the large open windows. We will be coming back.

Food was medicorce for the price point. The Lobster pasta was drowned in lemon. Wait staff were inexperienced. Manager of the floor seemed more concenred about closing early than servicing customers. Overall a poor experience, would have been better off at Waterfront next door.

The seafood bisque for the Tassie Lobster, does not contain lemon, we are a little unsure where this might have come from. Had an upstairs table with a great view of the Yarra and Southbank; certainly, enjoyed that. I was really impressed with the staff and their service, friendly, professional and helpful; well done. I had the Tasmanian Wallaby with the spinach, carrots and pine nuts. I enjoyed the chew of the wallaby, being a very lean protein. However, I did think that there was too many flavours and a touch too much heat, which detracted from the overall flavour of the dish. Hence a slightly lower score.

It was an array of food, arts, history and storytelling behind these wonderful and sumptuous meals. The 6 course meal was historical and breathtaking. My wife and I absolutely enjoyed every bit of it for our anniversary ☺️🤗
