We put all our heart and soul into a creative and unique experience. Our Omakase is a pre-fixed menu based on raw fish and shellfish. All ingredients come from Japan, prepared with Japanese techniques and elements. Our Omakase is a fine dining, intimate experience, prepared in front of our guests to highlight the integrity of our dishes.
CANCELLATIONS AND MODIFICATIONS are allowed 72 hours in advance. Less than 72 hours will be charged for the full price of Omakase per guest plus tax

We've been to R/O multiple times since their opening in August of 2021. We are so happy that R/O was awarded their Michelin one star. We've been to many sushi restaurants in NorCal and SoCal during our lifetime and without any hesitation, R/O has it all with the ambience, service, presentation and chef Jordan's amazing creations.

This is our go to for ultra special occasions. The food is amazing, of course - every bite is perfect and delicious. But what makes the experience so special is the Chef, staff and ambiance. The ambiance is refined and elegant. Everything from fish to dishes are procured from Japan. The sake glasses are especially beautiful, each one unique and delicate. The chef and staff are absolutely wonderful and attentive with so much effort given to the comfort of the guests and attention to detail. Just a beautiful place to go for a special occasion.

Our anniversary celebration at Rebel Omakase was an experience we will treasure. When my wife and I are in Laguna Beach, we have to visit rebel Omakase The chef is a dedicated artist. The chef‘s wife handles restaurant operations. Always with perfection. We’ve always trusted Chef to deliver a delicious fabulous meal that is always memorable. The courses are well thought out. Wine selections are great. We hope rebel Omakase remains in Laguna Beach for a long time. Operating at this level is not easy. So go.

A wonderful meal. I believe this would be considered a kaiseki-style service - a mixture of prepared dishes and sushi - my apologies if I used the wrong term, but diners should not expect a strictly sushi service. Really enjoyed that the nigiri was woven in between the prepared dishes, rather than all in a row as a segment of the larger meal. Two pieces of beautiful fish were prepared multiple times in between the dishes throughout the meal, allowing me to focus on the unique flavors and textures. Service was exceptional. Cross your fingers that the hairy crab dish is available when you go.

This was a fabulous experience. Sushi in California can be hit-or-miss, but this was a very traditional take on omakase in a tranquil environment. Just fish and warm (very important) rice, and that’s it. The other courses were nice as well, with highlights including a chawanmushi with ankimo and bafun uni, a warming cup of house dashi broth, and a dessert of strawberries and cream ice cream with a plate frozen in liquid nitrogen and fresh truffles grated over the top, but the focus was the sushi, and it was lovely. Perhaps the rice overshadowed the fish, but I believe this was intentional by the chef with regard to how thinly he sliced the fish. Take special note of the very reasonably priced wine list with some of the lowest markups I have ever seen at a Michelin Star restaurant (<2x)!!! Also, you will have to text the restaurant to arrange reservations. They will communicate with you and everyone is very sweet, but it may seem inconvenient at first.
