A Disastrous Dining Experience – Avoid at All Costs
If I could give 1915 and Blue Roof Tapas Bar - Bear Mountain zero stars, I would. I went in expecting a quality meal, considering the price, but what I got was an absolute train wreck.
I ordered a black & blue filet, expecting it to be seared on the outside and rare on the inside. What arrived? A medium-cooked steak with only the center cut remotely rare. At $55, I expected much better. If they can’t cook a steak to temperature, they shouldn’t be serving steak at all.
Then came the sides—or rather, the side that never arrived. I ordered fresh-cut fries, but instead, I was given cold, mushy onion rings. When I pointed it out, I was told that onion rings are a “garnish.” Who in their right mind uses onion rings as a garnish? To make matters worse, the server informed me they cook them earlier in the day and just throw them on plates later. Excuse me? Pre-cooked, limp onion rings as a side (sorry, garnish)? In all my 55 years, I’ve never heard of such ridiculousness.
I foolishly decided to give dessert a shot since they claimed to have an in-house bakery. What a joke. I ordered the cookies and brownies platter to go, and what I got was a miserable excuse for “freshly baked” goods. The brownies were cold, mushy, and tasted like they came straight out of a box of Little Debbie snacks. Not to mention, the ratio was completely off—10 brownies to 3 cookies. Who thought that was a good idea? Oh, and those cookies? Soggy, defrosted, and utterly disappointing.
From start to finish, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Overpriced, poorly executed food, and an overall lack of care in the kitchen. Save your money and eat literally anywhere else.
