    My boyfriend and I drove an hour to come to Rustic House after we had seen videos of the food. Made a reservation and everything. We get there, we get seated and about 20mins later our waitress comes over to ask us our drinks and if we want appetizers. Mind you there were 5 table besides ours that had people sat down at them. We were never brought water to start which every other table had. The waitress repeatedly made eye contact with my boyfriend and continuously walked past us without saying a word asking if we were good on drinks or needed anything. The food itself was amazing, but the service was horrible. Never asked us if we wanted water or dessert we had to bring it up to the waitress and then after handing us the bill walks away to another table and sits down to chit chat for a bit, to the point where we had to walk up to the bar to pay. Now I don’t know if they just looked at us and decided that we weren’t worth the service, maybe they thought we weren’t going to tip well, regardless that’s no excuse to treat us any differently than anyone else. Especially when a family of 4 came in and was seated at a table next to us and the waitress had brought them water immediately and was very attentive to them and her other tables. Horrible service.

    Food quality has declined. Wife and I went on a Friday evening with reservations. Seated promptly. Drinks and appetizers were good and arrived quickly (salad and 1/2 doz oysters. Mains were a different story. We had to wait about half an hour before being served. My wife's fresh fish arrived mostly cold to warm. She wouldn't eat it and took it home to make a salad. My pasta dish with seafood arrived at a nice temperature Unfortunately the broth/sauce was relatively tasteless and very thin, They comped my wife's entree. Not happy.

    Had a great meal again, but found out they will be shutting down on the 23rd!! So not fair. This is a great eatery with fantastic people working there. Always felt like family. Let's hope a miracle happens.....

    I love Rustic House. I have dined all over the world in many top flight restaurants, but I keep coming back to Rustic House. Great atmosphere, sublime food and delightful service, and all that for a reasonable price. A keeper for the region.

    Consistently great seafood and friendly Staff.. I eat here every other month. Also, very efficient and accommodating with large parties.

    The food here is terrific, especially the fish and chips, and the $1 oysters and $5 beers on Monday nights are not to be missed. However, they really need to keep the temperature inside a lot warmer. Unfortunately, the servers kept the doors propped open to the patio outside, even on the coldest of nights, and this causes frigid drafts to fill up the restaurant. We had to keep our coats and jackets on all throughout our meal. Also, the price for a single slice of creme brulee cheesecake for desert was nearly $17, which we thought was badly over-priced, even if the cheesecake was delicious. I can only suppose they were compensating for the lower prices on the oysters.

    Yelp recommended this seafood place in the Peninsula. What a great recommendation!! The hostess was friendly and full of smiles. She explained the menus and specials of the day. Ricky was our server and he was the best! I was craving Fisherman’s Wharf style Cioppino and I was not disappointed!! It was rich in tomato flavor with spices, scallops, 3 kinds of fish, clams, mussels, crab with a bottom layer of fettuccine and garlic bread. I would say this was one of the best Cioppinos I’ve in years! My wife ordered the Lobster and Crab Ravioli with red sauce. She loved it as the tomato sauce had a kick to it! It was cooked perfectly! Portions were perfect!
