Samsi is a well established Japanese restaurant in Manchester City Centre, situated in Regency House on Whitworth Street between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road.

Samsi features unique dining environments, with private dining in an authentic tatami seating area and optional karaoke, a horigotatsu recessed seating area featuring an impressive wall hung kimono and a main dining area with a romantic feel under beautiful sakura trees, with a view of Mount Fuji from Kyoto.

The menu has a wide range of authentic recipe Japanese dishes and features show stopping sushi platters, which are excellent value for money! All food is freshly prepared to order using ingredients sourced from Japan and other local fresh produce.

Really bland food & not that much choice. Wine over expensive. Decor dated. Was as authentic food as a Yo Sushi/Tesco meal deal.

It was quite nice but wasn’t amazing. The older children enjoyed the food. Staff were really nice. It feels a bit tired eg my leather chair had a big rip in it and I had to sit on my wrap so the chair didn’t catch my legs. Food was ok but for the price I expected more to be honest eg the Teriyaki steak, although nice was just rice and steak with a bit of sauce - could’ve been improved with more sauce and some vegetables the Donburi was the same but virtually no sauce at all so the dish was quite dry.

Overall are nice for foods & services during the dinner. I will recommend my friends to have a taste if they have time or want to eat Japanese food.

Good value food that was tasty. Food was provided to the table as and when though, with us getting our desserts at two different times - very odd. My friend had finished his dessert before mine arrived. We also asked for all of the mains to arrive at the same time and this didn’t happen

Visiting the city for a show at the Palace & had a lovely pre-theatre meal. Freshly made sushi & sushimi and then two mains - Katsu Chicken and Beef Donburi. Very tasty and very filling! The staff were very polite and attentive without being intrusive. At the time we went it was very quiet so food was brought swiftly but it lacked atmosphere - which is in no way a criticism - I expect it’s got a really nice vibe in a busy evening. We would definitely eat there again.

Took the missus for the set menu before Hamilton on Saturday. Really nice place and atmosphere, the food was outstanding and the staff are really friendly would defo go again.

Pre theatre booking . Went a la carte as we are very familiar with Japanese /asian food so know what we like . They arranged for the sushi style food to arrive first then when we had finished those for the hot skewers ,gyozas and tempura to come . All food was very good . Our favourites being the spicy dragon roll and the prawn tempura . Good service . Restaurant was a bit cold for my comfort but they did have heaters on , it’s just a high ceiling older building so tricky . Most people would probably be fine . It was empty at first but had filled up by 7 . Highly recommend.
