San Laurel is one of the flagship restaurants in Chef José Andrés’ collection at Conrad Los Angeles. Here, he effortlessly combines his signature forward-thinking approach to Spanish cuisine with the gorgeous produce found at Southern California’s year-round farmers’ markets. San Laurel is open daily for breakfast and dinner service.

The restaurant’s interior combines organic, earthy tones and natural wood finishes with richer hues to complement what’s on the plate: the flavors of Spain as seen through a California lens.

Food way okay but at this price point $525 dinner for two I expect to thoroughly enjoy my dinner and this by no means blew me away.

Absolutely amazing! Food was very tasty, service was outstanding!! Valentine’s Day set menu was solid and just right amount of food! We will be back to try a la carte!

It was a mistake to come on Valentines Day where the only option was a $195 per person fixed menu. The ambiance and service was good. However for that price, the food was lacking. Portions are small for every dish. At this price I expect the fish to be halibut or Chilean sea bass, not bland rock cod (though cooked perfectly). I also expect the Jamon iberco to be bigger than the size of a penny (I’ve had free samples of this larger). I also expect the crudo to be hamachi, not sliced persimmons. I just really expected more at this price ($550 out the door) but I suppose that’s what happens on Valentine’s Day.

It was a lovely evening and everything was perfect. When we made the reservation, however, it gave us the option for the regular menu and when we got to the restaurant, we learned that only the prefix menu was available. I believe that that is something that OpenTable should address not the restaurant. Thank you.

Absolutely amazing. Very rare to get a waiter who’s a Som in training and loves the art of fine dining. I would go back every night if it were possible.

We were there for the Valentine meal. The meal was magnificent with touches of whimsy and romance. Our server was also excellent, as usual! I can’t possibly say anything more. Usually, we don’t go out for Valentines Day, too much food ….. just not pleasant. Even though it was a set menu, it was a perfect amount of food and I will be back next year. One true confession, this is one of our favorite restaurants, already. Thx for a wonderful event!

After having been to The Bazaar in South Beach many times, this was sadly a huge disappointment. The food was mediocre at best. And a bottle of water $16! Jose Andres should be able to do better

I found myself delighted that Jose Andres opened San Laurel at The Conrad for pre-theatre dining because I absolutely adored and relished my many dinners at his The Bazaar at the SLS several years ago. I consider The Bazaar one of the most truly unique, creative, and remarkable restaurants. Unfortunately, San Laurel did not wow me or my husband the way Andres’ The Bazaar did. For a chef of such renown and very steep prices, I expected much better. We had lovely service from Sebastian. The room had a great vibe, view, and modern elegance. The lamb was a standout and truly wonderful. The Pa Amb Tomaquet, pan de cristal, tomato was extraordinary … such a simple dish elevated to new heights with the very lush, ripe, flavorful tomatoes and standout par-baked Spanish bread. However, the rest of the meal didn’t fare as well. The touted Vermicelli “Mac ‘N Cheese” did not work for my husband and me. For the creaminess of the sauce, the vermicelli did not hold up and became “mushy.” The dish needs a heartier pasta, like a penne or orecchiette; and the flavor of the melted Idiazábal cheese didn’t appeal to us. Sebastian told us Peach Stracciatella Salad was a standout; however, the peaches in it weren’t ripe and were the signature ingredient in the salad. Other dishes we ate turned out perfectly fine but didn’t have a “wow factor” we expected.
