The internal refurb looks great, giving the restaurant a more modern feel whilst still retaining an intimate vibe. The quality of the food was excellent - a vast improvement on the previous menu (which was already very good). It feels, however, that Sasso have made a major error in deciding to withdraw the children's menu. Sasso receives visits from many families from within the community of Disley and surrounding areas so it seems strange to withdraw the children's menu. This appears to be a rather cynical marketing ploy instigated by the Cibo Restaurant Group (who own Sasso) to make even more money at the hands of families who have been supporting the restaurant over the years. It feels out-of order to charge nearly £15 for a child to eat an adult sized pizza, which they're going to struggle to eat half of, and to also charge them ful- price for a dessert and a drink. This essentially means that parents are going to be paying an average cost of £30 per child, which if you have a large family adds up. This complete disregard of children was underlined by the member of staff who served us who, giving menus to all of the adults at the table, but didn't give one to my young daughter. It felt quite rude and as if she didn't exist. The restaurant have also removed some of their soft-drink options from the menu and now only serve mixer-sized carbonated drinks (coke, etc) so you're effectively paying £3.50 for a drink which only fills half of our glass! It does feel that the Cibo restaurant group are making a huge error in understating the importance of children and families in general and are at risk of losing this loyal customer base. So, in short - refurb and food great but please bring back the kid's menu and give us decent sized bottles with our soft drinks!

Regarding the kids' menu, in Sasso’s 13 years, we’ve never had one, but we’re always happy to do smaller portions of pizza or pasta at a reduced price for little ones. If this wasn't properly communicated, I am sorry about that and I will speak to the team so our guests are aware.
As for drinks, we’ve always served bottled options rather than machine-poured fizzy drinks, reflecting local pricing and taste.
While Sasso is part of the Cibo group, it’s where it all began for us, and we invested heavily in the refurb because we value Sasso and its community. It wasn’t about making more money as we haven’t changed prices, and our items are £3-4 cheaper than Cibo’s menu.
