   Love Scalo's they are always professional, great service and delicious dishes. We also love we can go there after attending concerts at Popejoy.

   The food was terrific. Our waiter SERGIO was one of the best waiters we have ever had. He helped us with our meal selection and answered everyone of our questions. I recommend eating at SCALO's and asking for SERGIO. Excellent service. We are coming back!

   Why is it so difficult to find a restaurant in Albuquerque that does not overcook seafood? Here the prosciutto wrapped lobster was burnt black and had to be returned. The duck breast was also overcooked, not medium rare as requested but still very good. Having the grill visible to patrons is a nice touch but not when the exhaust system cannot keep the smoke from covering the dining area. Bless our server who did all she could to alleviate our distress and make the evening enjoyable after all.

    Good points: The staff was friendly and helpful. Except for noise Ambience was nice. Bad points: Exceedingly noisy. Food for the most part was poor. The mussels had an overwhelming sauce that completely eradicated any mussel flavor. The fritto misto appeared to be much more breading than seafood. And the veal was so tough it was impossible to eat. It could not even be cut with a sharp knife. (They did not charge us for the veal, apparently agreeing with us.) Only the salad could be rated good. In a nutshell, we liked the staff but hated the food and found the noise level very bothersome. We were looking forward to the reopened Scalos, but were exceedingly disappointed. We will not go back.
