Sète (named after the coastal town in France) is a wine bar, shop, and kitchen.

Our doors opened to the wine bar in October 2022 and the restaurant and garden in July 2023. The seasonal menu focuses on modern European cooking with a heavy French influence, highlighting the best produce Kent has to offer.

Wine is certainly at the heart of what we love. With an ever evolving list that highlights old world classics, accessible natural wines, female winemakers and exciting next generation vintners. We also serve a seasonally changing list of wine on tap and host private tastings.

Behind Sète is Natalia Ribbe who has worked across restaurants in Vienna, NYC and London, as well as the founder of the female collective; L.O.R.

In the kitchen is Head Chef Billy Stock who joins us from The Rose Inn in Wickembraux, St. John, The Marksman and Rochelle at the ICA to name a few.

    One of our favorite ever dinners, every dish was incredible and surprising. Lovely romantic atmosphere and great service complimented the great food and wine. Perfect date night spot, can’t wait to return to try a new menu soon!

    An absolutely lovely restaurant. Super ambience, very French brasserie feel. All sharing plates if required and everything tasted exceptional, simple and extraordinary quality produce . First visit but will definitely recommend to everyone I know for sure.

    Super ambience and lovely people. We had the Margate Restaurant Week 3 course menu - a choice of 2 dishes per course. From the start we were encouraged to add extras - which is fine of course, just felt a little more pushy than it needed to be when one of the attractions of a promotional set menu price is that you will be experiencing somewhere special at an affordable price! Starters were disappointing sadly - the pork rillette needed a couple of pieces of toasted bread or some such to complete the dish and the blue cheese radicchio salad was a little underwhelming. However the chicken schnitzel was excellent as were both desserts. We shared both ‘extra’ side dishes and they were great. Verdict - mains and desserts - really delicious. The wines were very good by the glass. We would definitely visit again - and perhaps would have better luck with the starters.

    A fantastic neighbourhood restaurant reminiscent of some of the authentic Parisian bistros we have eaten in. Simple dishes full of flavour and perfectly cooked, in a nice buzzy atmosphere with really friendly service. Highly recommended.

    The popup was very interesting with great food. Our waitress was super friendly and we managed to get a high table despite booking the bar. We had a great night as part of a weekend away in Margate, and would definitely come again to Sète to enjoy the regular menu when we come back in Margate!

    A very welcoming bar with attentive serving staff, we attended a pop up restaurant night with a Danish cook - the food was great - especially the cod in broth and the smoked mackerel . All of the food was very fresh and the overall experience was superb - we will be back to try the normal menu
