Sette by Scarpetta is London’s modern italian restaurant from New York City’s Scarpetta restaurant family; bringing authentic Italian food from the heart of Manhattan with its own inimitable flair. The term Scarpetta is derived from the Italian tradition ‘fare la Scarpetta,’ which means to indulge in a meal down to the very last taste. Sette will remain true to this philosophy by continuing in its tradition of sourcing excellent seasonal, local ingredients, and crafting freshly baked breads and homemade pastas daily, including the renowned Scarpetta classic - Spaghetti with Tomato and Basil.

    Hôtel restaurant without the fizz factor. Service was incredibly slow at the beginning (it did get better). Overpriced food and incredibly overpriced wines. For the same amount of money, better stick with sure options (Daphne, Cipriani etc).

    We enjoyed all the food and atmosphere. The amount of food was a little bit too much for us. Although we booked lunch with a free glass of wine, it was not included in our lunch menu.

    I went on a Saturday when they offer a brunch menu with live music. The menu offered an good choice of interesting options and the solo singer was great, very talented, appropriate songs for a brunch and perfect volume (could hear her but could still talk easily). Decor is of course subjective, but there is nothing special or interesting about Sette and therefore disappointing given that it is in a Bulgari hotel with its fashion/design background. The food was first class, adequate portion size, perfectly cooked (al dente pasta, slightly pink lamb, etc) and very tasty. The main issue was the service - whilst the dining room was not busy, the waiting staff forgot to bring the sharing platter (a standard part of the brunch menu), were slow to top up drinks, did not ask if everything was to our satisfaction and did not offer drinks to the non-alcohol drinker on the table. The production of food from the kitchen was well timed (we didn't feel hurried but we weren't left waiting long between courses) but otherwise we felt ignored. The four course brunch menu with bottomless champagne was in our opinion, really good value but otherwise it's not a venue I would go back to to as the decor/atmosphere/service wasn't as worthwhile as the food as didn't deliver 5 stars.
