Contemporary West African restaurant, Shakara, is the latest addition to London’s vibrant dining scene. Nestled in the heart of Marylebone, Shakara serves to provide a thoughtfully curated menu of exceptional African cuisine paired with fine mixology.                                                     Dining at Shakara London was a lovely experience. I was impressed by the interior – it’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into creating an inviting and stylish atmosphere. The food was incredible, with rich flavours and the overall ambience and music enhanced it even further. While the service could have been a little quicker, everything else more than made up for it. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience!

                                                    My parents went for Mother’s Day dinner and couldn’t wait get home before saying how much they enjoyed. The staff, the food and the ambience, everything was 10/10. Now I need to go and try it myself!

                                                    Shakara! What can I say. Lots of great reviews on here and TikTok. Overall it’s a average. Firstly the prices were different to online. Significantly so from £3-£5. Reviewing the prices online and on social media there has been a significant mark up in 2-3 months. Food was flavoursome but came warm especially the starters (jerk fried chicken) and gave the impression that it was made earlier in the day. Lamb chops were divine it again came warm. I don’t know why everything was so lukewarm. By the time I got half way through my food was cold. Such a shame as the flavours would have been even better if it was hot. Cocktails were nice but had virtually no alcohol in them. I had the Suya Sour (great garnish’s) and Sorrel. Didn’t even feel a slight buzz. The banana bread plantain was lovely and the hottest thing I ate. The lights and music was lovely but my word it was so so so loud. Might need to attend during the day. I know a lot of restaurants are following in the steps of bagatelle etc so maybe that’s the vibe. I could hardly hear what my friend was saying. Combined with the warm/cold food it left much to be desired. Customer service was great, very attentive and kind, so that balanced things out. I think they’ve got some greattttt components but it hasn’t blended well. £219 in total for two people . Was it worth that no. Would I go again? Maybe.

                                                    The food and service were absolutely fantastic. From the moment we walked in, the staff was attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it the perfect setting for a night out. As for the food, it was nothing short of delicious. Each dish was expertly prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The jollof rice was a standout, offering the perfect balance of textures and tastes that left me craving more. You could tell that high-quality ingredients were used, and the chef really knew their craft. However, there is a downside – value for money. While the meal was enjoyable and the service top-notch, the bill ended up being quite steep. It’s definitely on the higher end of the price spectrum. Felt like we were paying for the postcode. The also don’t offer Prosecco which is my choice of drink. Would this be a regular spot for me and my girls? Probably not but I’ll definitley be back 😊🥂

                                                    Unfortunately this restaurant did not live up to expectations, upon arrival some of the key items from the menu were not available (lamb suya, croquettes) and the menu was different to the one on their own website (including very big price differences - at least a few £s more for each item). The staff were really lovely and attentive which was a plus and the decor is lovely. The food itself was mediocre at best with my ‘medium’ steak being cooked well done and the plantain chips being entirely burnt. Overall it was highly disappointing and not worth the price at all.

                                                    The food I cannot fault, it was really nice. I think the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the market fish, but the Jollof rice, plantain, yams with ata dindin, Poussin and cocktails were great. I think it's important to note the food is a fusion of Nigerian, Caribbean (with the Poussin jerk and I believe other jerk items on the menu), with a twist. Like the Jollof rice has puffed rice as topping, the ata dindin had mayo alongside, but it still tasted nice and worked well. The ambience is great, low lighting and gives off a chic 70s vibe, with warm colours and not too crowded setting. Music was nice, but the DJ who turned up at 9pm was really good, but we had to clear out for a private party at 10pm. I definitely would like to go back and experience the restaurant vibe late at night.

                                                    Fantastic from the time we got to the door! Security is pleasant, polite! Vivian is amazing and warm, giving us 11/10 service Food was yummy! Also we didn't have to wait long after ordering. Live one man band us on our feet dancing Then the Dj added his music and it was💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿until Midnight!

                                                    Amazing food! The lamb chops and jollof rice were lovely! The salad had so much taste! The fried yam was so good we ordered it twice! The restaurant is beautiful. We defo being going back!
