   Unfortunately this restaurant did not live up to expectations, upon arrival some of the key items from the menu were not available (lamb suya, croquettes) and the menu was different to the one on their own website (including very big price differences - at least a few £s more for each item). The staff were really lovely and attentive which was a plus and the decor is lovely. The food itself was mediocre at best with my ‘medium’ steak being cooked well done and the plantain chips being entirely burnt. Overall it was highly disappointing and not worth the price at all.

   The food I cannot fault, it was really nice. I think the only thing I wasn't a fan of was the market fish, but the Jollof rice, plantain, yams with ata dindin, Poussin and cocktails were great. I think it's important to note the food is a fusion of Nigerian, Caribbean (with the Poussin jerk and I believe other jerk items on the menu), with a twist. Like the Jollof rice has puffed rice as topping, the ata dindin had mayo alongside, but it still tasted nice and worked well. The ambience is great, low lighting and gives off a chic 70s vibe, with warm colours and not too crowded setting. Music was nice, but the DJ who turned up at 9pm was really good, but we had to clear out for a private party at 10pm. I definitely would like to go back and experience the restaurant vibe late at night.

   Fantastic from the time we got to the door! Security is pleasant, polite! Vivian is amazing and warm, giving us 11/10 service Food was yummy! Also we didn't have to wait long after ordering. Live one man band us on our feet dancing Then the Dj added his music and it was💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿until Midnight!

   Amazing food! The lamb chops and jollof rice were lovely! The salad had so much taste! The fried yam was so good we ordered it twice! The restaurant is beautiful. We defo being going back!

   Had the best time at Shakara! The food was absolutely amazing—flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who made us feel so welcome. I went with my girls, and we had the best experience soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. The African cuisine with a pan-fusion twist was incredible—bold flavors, rich spices, and unique dishes that stood out. The wine was excellent, and the cocktails were perfectly crafted, making the night even better. Highly recommend for a fun night out!

   I went for dinner and had a great experience from start to ending! From being greeted by my name in the entrance which was very humbling and smiles all around by the staff. Food: a fusion of great starters- all varying in tastes with unique flavours. My favourite ones were the arepas and the lamb skewers. Main Course: I had the Sirloin steak which was cooked perfectly combined with the sauces- made it a perfect explosion of taste! Dessert: I had the strawberry and guava sorbet- 10/10 and the apple crumble which was fab too. Staff: very upbeat, attentive and knowledgeable of the dishes served and most importantly served with great smiles all around! Thank you Shakara- I will be back!

    An exceptional fine dining experience. The attention to detail in each dish was impressive! The flavors in each dish were perfectly balanced and the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh. The staff went above and beyond to make our dining experience memorable, They were attentive without being intrusive. I recommend this restaurant, 10 out of 10. 🙌🏽
