Having always been at the heart of Valley life, the 17th century Shibden Mill Inn was originally a corn and spinning mill, before being converted into a country pub in 1890.

Today’s visitors are welcomed with warm hospitality to enjoy first class dining against an inviting backdrop of open fires, low beamed ceilings and a cosy bar. Eleven individually styled bedrooms make comfortable and luxurious retreats, epitomising boutique country style and featuring lots of thoughtful touches.

And if you can drag yourself away from the Inn, there are wonderful walks from the doorstep and world class attractions within easy reach. For a spot of retail therapy or a cultural fix, Halifax is a 10-minute drive and Leeds is just 30 minutes away.

A nice time. Good service, good food. I did send my dessert back as it was very dry which felt awkward to do. Thankfully the chef saw that it was indeed dry and not at all as intended so I was refunded this. The other dessert at the table was good but not exceptional. I suspect we'd have enjoyed the starters more, they sounded delicious! I'd be very glad to go again, still heartily enjoyed.

Really lovely meal and staff were very attentive. The food just wasn't quite warm enough but the quality was good.

Fantastic value, service was excellent only criticism is the food (roast dinner) was lukewarm but it was delicious.

A regular diner but today food was disappointing. I had overheard the table next to me say the beef was tough but I wasn't sure which beef option they had chosen. The "pink" beef was dry and the meal was cold. It was replaced but by then I think I'd lost my appetite. It was Easter and mega busy so I guess you can't ask for perfection every time.
