I think the portion sizes are too small, if I went to a regular tapas restaurant I would have paid around £6/7 per dish, for the 6 dishes we received, one of which was just fried broccoli stems and another 2 chicken drumsticks, would have cost £30/£35. The set menu of 6 hot tapas dishes was £52. Previously when I went to sol y sombra a good few years ago you kept getting little dishes until you had enough to eat so I expected to be asked if we would like more but was not the case. A few fried broccoli stems to me is not a tapas dish and neither I would say is 2 plain chicken drumsticks. We did enjoy the food but probably wouldn’t return for evening dinner.
I also tried the white sangria, there was no fruit in glass, and I’m sure I saw the waitress add white wine with lemonade which is definitely not a sangria, so a little disappointing as I was looking forward to something a bit different and it was pricey when you don’t get what you think you are going to get.
The restaurant is beautiful and the atmosphere is perfect.
