Sous le Nez en Ville is one of the original restaurants involved in the explosion of 1990’s wine bars, and I am thrilled it’s still going and as successful as it was when it first opened! The deep fried Brie starter may well be now on the ‘vintage’ scale, but it’s certainly moved on from the standard cranberry to a more tasty mango. I’m terribly sad it’s taken me {ahem!} a couple of decades since I last visited, and two former partners! My now husband was more than impressed and I doubt it will be too long before we visit again! The £200 bill was less than we expected too!

We have loved Sous Le Nez for over 30 years and we have never been disappointed. We chose from the early bird menu and everything was delicious. The roasted cauliflower, goats cheese and pear tart was a highlight for me and my husband adored his belly pork.

Three of us ate in the restaurant though the bar was also available. Both restaurant and bar area were busy (we booked for 1230pm). All of us were impressed by the choices on offer. We mixed and matched from the specials and the a la carte. We had starters and mains plus coffee and a nice bottle of white from the Alsace. Total bill including gratuities equalled £55 a head. We ate fish soup (excellent), black pudding (also excellent) and the cauliflower (good too). Two had the sea trout and the other had duck. We shared a side of spinach and peas. Very good food indeed. We will return. Highly recommended.

Fabulous place, lovely staff and the service was outstanding. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Great choice on the menu. The atmosphere was fantastic too, not what I expected, loved the authentic, relaxing yet vibrant feel of the place. Great if you to just pop in for light snack as the bar menu looked delicious also. Only wish I had found this gem of a place sooner. Will definitely be revisiting. 👌

The staff are lovely and helpful but more important the food is delicious ! Just to make people aware there is an extra charge on their set menu if you visit on a Saturday - not sure why the food becomes more expensive on a Saturday than on a Friday but non the less is lovely .
