Welcome to Tahona! We are the first mezcal bar and tasting room in San Diego. In our restaurant, we invite you to taste our incredible craft cocktails and our amazing contemporary Mexican cuisine featuring Oaxacan bites. In our tasting room, we welcome you to indulge on a mezcal tasting experience!
We are located next one of the most iconic historical landmark: the Campo Santo Cemetery in Old Town. Inside Tahona, you will be transported to a modern Mexican hacienda designed with hand painted tiles, handmade rope seats, traditionally crafted fabric brought from Oaxaca, hand clayed walls and more.
We also have a cozy covered outdoor patio dining experience so you will have the choice to dine inside our hacienda or on the streets of Old Town!
There is plenty of street parking in Old Town and some paid parking lots available within a couple blocks of the restaurant. In addition we have valet available for our dinner service Friday-Sunday.

A wonderful date night compliments of our Chef Adrian Villarreal. This is a 3 course meal for $95 for 2 people, with an array of appetizers to start your dinner, followed by your choice of 2 entrees, and finished with a wonderful dessert. This dinner also will include 2 of our made from scratch cocktails, beer, or wine! While dining at Tahona, you will have wonderful live music to set that atmosphere for a perfect date night!

Come join us for a 4 course mezcal pairing dinner with a live Vinyl DJ! Executive chef Adrian Villarreal has created a special menu paired with 4 mezcals from Vago (Tepextate, Mexicano, Espadin Jarquin, Elote)! The menu will be:
1st Course: Hokkaido Scallops with Toyon Berry Glaze
2nd Course: Variety of Local Root Vegetable "Enmoladas"
3rd Course: Braised Beef Cheek with Oaxacan Coffee Demi Glace
4th Course: Mango Tres Leches Cake
The Founder of Vago Judah Kuper will be in house to educate on each of the wonderful mezcals!
