The origins of South Bank’s newest Asian dining experience are steeped rich in history, honouring traditions in Chinese and South East Asian cuisines. Our restaurant is proudly named after the owner’s ancestral great, great grandmother who was, as the title refers to, Tai Tai.

Our location in the heart of South Bank makes Tai Tai one of Brisbane’s most popular restaurants to dine at before a film, show at QPAC or conference at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. We welcome and encourage walk-ins, however limited number of tables are available to book in advance.

Food is delicious, generous portions and service is fast and friendly. Favourites are the sweet and sour Barra, duck pancakes, and Sichuan green beans. Tonight we had sweet and sour Barramundi, Chinese greens, and vegetarian fried rice. Perfect! A restaurant like this deserves a better location! Street noise is always terrible, the engine noise of motorbikes and suped up P platers is amplified on this street. I think there is always a fire siren.

The food, as always, was great! We opted for the Angus beef and clay pot chicken, both of which were delicious. The service was efficient and friendly. Sitting right beside where the ‘cutlery’ was sorted, customers were greeted, and plates etc were organized was definitely not a great option - very noisy and made it hard to have a pleasant night. Will definitely request a quiet table next time.

Always a great experience here. Staff are attentive and helpful and well mannered. Food is beautiful, good size serves, well presented and promptly served. See you ext time

Scrumptious well presented meals serviced by friendly staff. The prawn and scallop dumplings were lovely. And the ginger prawn scallop stir-fry was absolutely amazing. Delicate flavours. A wonderful restaurant.
