                                                  The food, as always, was fantastic -- we are vegetarians and so our general approach is to order several shared plates. We had the cauliflower (our favorite), the fritters, the risotto (maybe this was our favorite?), and the cheese plate. All were delicious. The cheese plate could have used slightly more than the 6 tiny crostini and 3 thick slices of cheese for the price; was a bit unwieldy. Ambiance of the main room was slightly off from normal, as they had clearly added many additional 2-tops to accommodate the Valentine's Day diners -- I can't blame them for that, it's a huge money maker. However, getting pushed into "overflow" seating, where the ambiance is non-existent, was a bit of a letdown considering we are not 1-visit customers. Service was very attentive, but a bit quick -- a little too obvious there were trying to turn tables over as fast as possible. Again, no shade for wanting to maximize revenue for the evening, but for a returning customer the difference in experience was noticeable. We'll be back, but probably not on a Valentine's Day.

                                                  We've been to Tandem many times and always enjoyed our meals there. This time, we had three old favorites: the deviled eggs, the Caesar salad, and the short rib. We also tried the daily catch, which was sea bass with a truffle butter. It was excellent. We will return.

                                                  One of our favorite restaurants never disappoints! Everything at Tandem is always top notch, from service to cocktails, superb wine list, great ambiance, and most importantly the food is excellent! The salmon dish is one of my favorites in the Triangle but what sets Tandem apart from others is their daily catch which changes day to day and is always spectacular. I love how they also have a monthly cocktail benefiting local charities and organizations with profits. Absolutely LOVE Tandem!

                                                  Went for lunch on a Tuesday. Took about 45 minutes before we took our first bite (slow service). Salads were very large, probably reflects the high prices, much too much. Will not return unless someone else is paying :)

                                                  Overall disappointing dinner. Service was incredibly slow and server was overworked. For appetizers, my friend and I ordered the cauliflower - it was fine, nothing special but had been recommended by our waiter. For entrees, I ordered the salmon, which come to find out when it was delivered, is essentially the cauliflower appetizer + rice + salmon all in one dish. I wished I had been warned about how similar the dishes were. I would not have gotten the salmon. On top of that, I was asked the temperature I wanted it cooked. I requested medium and it came nearly rare. Our server didn’t even come to check on us after food was delivered. We had to flag down another busy waitress to have it cooked further.My friend got the lamb (also a recommended dish by our waiter), which was very average. I liked Tandem when I came once before, but I won’t be back for a while.
