Newly remodeled, the much airier Tavern is all about art, music, and above all great food. Open for lunch and soon to include evening dining, the Tavern adds a distinctly Mexican/Pacific Coast set of flavors to the local fine dining scene.

We are located in the heart of the Cedros Design District, within walking distance of the Amtrak station. The style is casual with indoor and outdoor dining ( plus bar seating). The patio, which can accommodate 18 guests, looks out onto the shop-lined Cedros Avenue and can be separated from the main dining area for private events.

*Please note* Our restaurant welcomes walk-ins during our Lunch hours from 11:30 am- 3:30 pm.
*Tavern restaurant will be closed for dinner (Lunch will remain open Monday and Tuesday when the belly up is dark)

    Wonderful menu options. The Soup of the Day, Potato Cauliflower, was excellent s f topped with I believe was an asparagus drizzle. Yum! Mediterranean Salad excellent, albeit a bit too salty. Salmon Dijon was excellent as was the Blackberry Cobbler. Oh & the Mrazberry Cocktail was wonderful.

    Tavern is an great place to go before a show at the Belly up& anytime your in Solana beach. The bartender, Joy is friendly& helpful with drinks& ordering food!

    Food, service, convenience - all OUTSTANDING!! So easy to have a great dinner, food comes out quickly, and be right there when doors open for a show.

    Great menu, excellent food and service - plus was ability to enter the Belly Up for a concert directly from the restaurant (if you eat there) giving us an opportunity to get the best seats in the house! Will definitely return

    Although I saw great reviews on Open Table, I was a bit skeptical, based on the location & restaurant name. However, The Tavern delivered. It is a funky spot in Solana Beach...sort of a warmup spot for the bar/entertainment next door (which was packed - tickets sold in advance). Our waiter, Juan, was well versed on the menu and made great suggestions. My wife had the Scallops, which she loved. I ordered the Italian Sausage Pappardelle...Juan suggested adding Linguine ... and I did. It was excellent. The dessert - if you're into dessert...the Reese's Peanut Butter Pie...off the charts. Plenty big for sharing.

    Service was great, appetizers and main entrée were delicious. Also the drinks were very good. would definitely come back here again.
