Taverna is a warm and inviting neighborhood restaurant that offers a truly Italian experience without having to leave Texas. Our Italian chefs strive to create the perfect menu using seasonal ingredients for their surprising entrees; every day we present a variety of northern Italian delights from simple comforts such as pan seared sea bass to delicate pasta and fabulous risotto.

Risotto is indeed our flagship dish. We only use Carnaroli rice – the “king of the rice”; thanks to its particular characteristics and firm texture the Carnaroli grain maintains its shape during the slow cooking required for a perfect and creamy risotto. Our broad offering includes truffle oil and Parmigiano risotto, bay scallops with home made pesto and an inspired Vin Santo risotto with asparagus and prosciutto.

A taverna in Italy is a special place where customers become friends and family. Here we celebrate the essence of hospitality and farm-to-table cooking reflecting our authentic Italian style.

This was our first experience. The restaurant was very nice and in a peak location. The server (Caleb) did an excellent job on making recommendations and ensuring we were taken care of the entire time. The food was delicious and we will definitely come back again. I personally recommend this place.

For the most part the food was good. Menu just changed…why??? I did get a bowl of soup to go and when I got home it was less than 1/2 a cup. Sad.

I ordered the steak with truffle mash potatoes. Steak was overcooked. Truffle mash was not good. Overall I felt like it was overpriced for mediocre food

We celebrated a birthday at Taverna Monday night. The staff was very accommodating and polite, and our waiter, Forrest, was professional and friendly. The restaurant was packed on a Monday night, so it's obviously a popular place. I thought the food was good, not great, definitely not the most refined or authentic Italian food I've ever had, but everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. I had the arugula salad with pan seared salmon, which was tasty. The pasta dishes and the risotto were ok. My son really enjoyed his pizza. The focaccia starter is really just a round of pizza dough, not thick and bubbly real focaccia. Maybe they should change the name and call it a flatbread instead. The antipasti starter had a nice selection of meats and cheeses and was a generous portion for our group. The bathroom, which is unisex, looked a little rough. Needs a little fresh paint and TLC.

Waitress was great. Restaurant was freezing, loud and the food was very basic. Kind of expensive for the quality. The best thing we had was the free bread.
