A culinary collaboration between Tequila Comida & Cantina and Marina Grill, infusing the vibrant flavors of Mexico into the heart of Wilmington’s waterfront. Established in 2018 by Chef Ramon Villasenor and Miguel Villasenor, Tequila Comida & Cantina has teamed up with Marina Grill to create an exceptional dining experience.

Nestled beside the Riverfront Park and boasting an extraordinary view of the Riverfront Marina, Tequila’s Waterfront offers a unique setting. Our spacious outdoor area is the perfect spot to enjoy live music during the summer months. Located next door to the Riverfront Park, home to the Live Oak Pavilion, an outdoor amphitheater hosting open-air concerts and entertainment, we invite you to savor the magic of Mexican cuisine amid cultural warmth and breathtaking views.

Overall service was average, food was slightly above average. Brought out fajitas but and said tortillas were coming - had to ask 3 people for tortillas before they arrived 10 minutes later. Was worth the trip but will not come back. If you’re looking for really delicious food and a great experience, i would keep looking.

We’ve been wanting to eat at Tequila’s since it opened and we were not disappointed. There were a lot of atypical options, which is great, because you can only eat so many fajitas and tacos (though they have those too). The drinks were delicious and the space is airy and colorful. All around, a great dinner. Will definitely go again when we are back in town - can’t wait to eat outside!

Excellent service & a colorful, festive atmosphere, plus a great view of the Riverwalk. Enjoyed the ceviche sampler recommended by our waiter.

Drinks were very good. We went on National Margarita Day so there was a special which was certainly appreciated. The food is very, very fresh. I got one of their off the menu specials, which were ribs over rice, beans. The ribs were seasoned beautifully and tasted nothing like a typical BBQ rib, but had a slight kick. My husband's meal was also very good. Dolce was our server and she was as nice and sweet as can be.

Do not recommend this restaurant. Just because it's on the waterfront, don't get swayed into thinking it's good. Hostess was not overly nice. Had reservations and had to wait 20 minutes while people came in after us and had no reservations and were seated immediately. I honestly think she forgot about us. Took 15 minutes to see a server. Then took almost 20 minutes after drinks to see her again to place our food orders. Cheese dip had a hair in it. Food was not good and our server by that point was nowhere to be seen. Manager was nearby and we asked for bill. Noise incredibly loud. Just not a great experience and won't go back

We are sorry you didn't have the experience we'd like for you. We did have a very busy Saturday with National Margarita Day and the Novant Marathan ending next door. Our books were filled all night with reservations only and only accepted walk-in patrons to our bar. We did have lots of folks who were enjoying their experience and stayed at their tables for longer periods of time. This, sometimes, does delay some of our reservations. We have trained staff to communicate that with our patrons. When busy and filled, our restaurant is vibrant, bright, and sometimes loud. Any issues with food or service, we would have loved to speak with you and try and fix. We will discuss your review at our manager's meeting.

Great atmosphere and quality, fresh ingredients. Tasty chips and salsa. The house margarita was very good, but maybe a bit sweet for my tastes. Had tacos - good flavor and texture. Different rice than used to, but excellent. Also, black beans were exceptional.

Wonderful street tacos. The house margarita with jalapeño infused tequila was amazing. The hot salsa is delicious and hot albeit the fire is overly long lasting. Yowza! The salsa verde and house made quac was delish! The service was consistently on point throughout our entire visit, not too much and not too little. Our waiter had the perfect attentivness. The parking is a little unusual, you actually park on a pier over the water. We enjoyed ourselves with great food and professional service. The only minor critique I would have is the music was one notch above the perfect volume and some of the halogen spot lights were on the bright side of comfortable when seated at our table. Some light adjustments or dimmer would improve the ambiance to perfection however, it appeared to vary by table. We got a bright lit one due to some misaligned art work spot lights. We will definitely visit again and again. This is a very special must visit destination on the Wilmington River Walk.
