    This Winter, experience the wonder of dining inside, outside in one of our Waterfront Heated Igloos! Each igloo is decorated for the holiday season, heated, equipped with a wireless bluetooth speaker to play tasteful music of your choice and includes spectacular waterfront views of the Swift Creek Reservoir. Igloos seat up to 6 guests with a 2-hour time limit. There is a non-refundable reservation fee of $120 due at the time of booking. We reserve the right to cancel the reservation at any time due to weather, in which case your rental fee will be deferred to a date of your choosing based on availability. No smoking or vaping in the igloos or on the patio at any time.

    We dined in the igloo for our niece’s birthday dinner and it was perfect from beginning to end. Ambiance was fabulous, the igloo was toasty in the 20 degree weather, food was delicious as always, but our server Jamie really made all the difference. He was personable, kind, eager to assist, took every step of service seriously, and most importantly he made our niece feel very special on her birthday. It is not easy to serve in those igloos- they are far from the kitchen, it is freezing temperatures they are constantly in and out of, and the zipper to open and close them is not an easy thing to operate when your hands are full of hot food or cold drinks. Not only did he refuse to allow those challenges to diminish his service levels in any way, but he also went out of his way to say that he enjoyed the experience of serving to the igloos. Major kudos to Jamie for the impeccable service and great time, as well as the kitchen for always pumping out fresh and delicious food!

    We visited the Boathouse at Sunday Park to celebrate my husband's birthday and were seated at a table with a view of the lake, as requested, although we dined early and the restaurant was almost empty, so we don't know whether we would have been so seated had we dined later. The waitress was attentive and food arrived quickly. We both ordered a 3 course dinner with a starter of clam chowder that was OK but nothing special. My husband enjoyed his entree of a crab cake and 3 fried shrimp with French fries but my salmon entree was less satisfying. I wasn't asked how I preferred the salmon to be cooked, and it arrived a bit dry, atop mashed potatoes with overgrilled asparagus buried beneath the potatoes. For dessert, his creme brulee was nicely done but my bread pudding was dry and hard and would have been almost inedible had it not been for the vanilla ice cream that could be used to soften it up. It tasted as if it was leftover or had been sitting under a heat lamp for too long. Although we were asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, there was no reconition of it other than the waitress wishing him a happy birthday. Overall, the experience was a huge disappointment.

    Friends and I went to The Boathouse to celebrate their move to VA and the closing on their new home. When the manager learned this, she brought our table complimentary champagne to start the evening!! It was an awesome and warm welcome for my friends!! We had a delicious dinner, never felt rushed and overall, had a great night.

    Waiter and staff were great, ambiance is excellent in a beautiful location. Food was OK. We had the Seafood Combination and the Shrimp and Grits: both were average good but not great. The shrimp was cooked just a little too long. The Parmesan Truffle Fries were nice but almost cold when they arrived. Expected more for what we paid, not good value.

    Atypical experience this time. We booked the igloo experience which came with a hefty fee. We were seated 45 minutes late so we waited at the bar’s hightops which took over 15 minutes to be waited on. Entrees came out at different times but both before the apps. Ordered the fillet mignon and they sent me a Ribeye and gaslighted me when I pointed it out. I know the difference and it’s obvious. Waitress was good and was the only redeeming factor in our overall experience this visit.

    This is one of my favorite restaurants in Virginia. The staff is friendly, efficient and exceptional in every way. Our server - Haden, was terrific. He handled our somewhat quirky family of 8, flawlessly. The service provided was excellent. Haden was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and made excellent recommendations. Our meal was very, very good. I had the broiled seafood combination and it was excellent- highly recommended by our server - Haden. Fresh, seasoned perfectly and very tasty. Others in our party had fillets, fish and chips, chicken ……, pretty much selecting from across the menu. The desserts, particularly the Apple Crisp, were just like our entrees - exceptionally good. A truly great start and welcoming to 2025

    My husband and I dined at The Boathouse at Sunday Park on New Year's Eve, which we have enjoyed the last couple of years. Unfortunately, this year they let us down. Our main complaint was that our appetizers, soup and entrees were all delivered at approximately the same time. That meant that, instead of enjoying a glass of wine with our appetizers, then progressing to our cup of clam chowder, followed by our meal, we had to eat the soup first (so it didn't get cold), then eat the appetizers, followed by our entrees (which were now cold). We didn't place any blame on our server, who was perfectly fine, we blame either the kitchen or the management. The meals themselves were not up to what we've experienced in the past. There didn't seem to be anything special to order for the holiday and the presentation was just sad. I had the crab cakes - which were just okay accompanied by mashed potatoes (that seemed out of a box) and about 4 pieces of limp asparagus with no flavor. My husband had Salmon drowned in a much too spicy sauce with some vegetables. For this we paid $170 (we paid $6 just to get some bread) We skipped dessert and left. Won't be doing this next year! Just sad.
