The Clare Castle Port Melbourne is one of Melbourne's finest pub restaurants. Pub classics are a feature but we raise the bar with amazing char grilled steaks, incredible seafood including prawns, beautiful fresh fish, freshly shucked oysters and our signature Moreton Bay bugs available in numerous dishes. We also have vegetarian and gluten free options and many other delights.

We offer multiple dining options: FULL SERVICE in the Restaurant and on the Restaurant Terrace. BAR SERVICE (and optional QR code ordering) in the Bar and on the footpath tables. We also have a fabulous private wine room for your special occasion (please ring to enquire about this room).

I eat there once a month and the service and food is always consistently great. I take friends there occasionally and it has always been a success, regardless of the meal. One other big thing is that they let each person pay for their own meal, without all the stress of people trying to pay for one bill. Greatly appreciated! A neighbourhood gem for me, white table cloths too.

Was disappointed when I wanted veal but they said they run out. Only to then hear half an hour later the next table ordered it and was served. Very very poor customer service in relation to that,

Both the wine and food menus are excellent and offer a wide variety and cost. Service and food was excellent.

I had the roast of the day (lamb) & my partner had the bug spaghetti. We are repeat dinners at the Clare Castle. My partner loved the bug spaghetti & I don't have enough fingers to count how many times she has had it in the past. The lamb on my roast was disappointing as it was tough, however, the roasted vegetables were superb. I appreciate the cost pressure that exists within hospitality so I would suggest cutting back on the quantity of vegetables (as the serving was huge) & getting a more tender cut of lamb. Despite this I would still say that the meal was good value. We also had pre dinner drinks & a Heathcote Shiraz with our main meal which I would recommend.

We love this place best food and great service. Crumbed Cutlets were a hit as was the Garlic Prawns. Great Cocktails.

Lunching at our favourite restaurant was once again excellent. However, we were very disappointed to see one of our favourite courses, BANGERS AND MASH, removed from the menus. It is very disappointing. Hopefully, it will appear permanently on the Specials Board, particularly on Thursdays.
