I was so excited to try this place but I was so disappointed. I got the chicken tacos which had no flavour and as I’m gluten free I wasn’t able to get the fries. They said they didn’t have a dedicated fryer. They offered me salad instead to accommodate my allergy. I wasn’t informed I was getting charged $3 to change the side. The salad had no taste as well. My friend got the steak frites. The steak was tiny not the mentioned size. For $36 for the steak frites was very disappointing. Overpriced diner food. Despite living in the area I will not be going back

Great spot for dinner. Food and service were great. Good beer selection. Amazing bar and bonus showed the Leafs game. Would go again.

My partner and I had an amazing experience last night at The Commoner! We had been invited back after a minor issue a week prior, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make it up to us! Highly recommend the Fall Rum Punch and the Whipped Feta! Both to die for. We will be back :)

Don’t remember our server’s name but he was excellent! We had the Cobb salad with chicken & the tuna poke bowl. Don’t know which I enjoyed more! And for a bonus it was 1/2 price bottles of wine :D

Have been here a few times and had a great time. I’m not sure if it was because it was busy with the brunch crowd, but it was a miss for my partner and I today. Server forgot about us, his colleague had to pick up the slack and take additional drink orders. No table checks, no refills for coffee and 20 minutes to get a beer (well after the food arrived and didn’t even really want it anymore). Had to flag down the aforementioned colleague to get our bill after not seeing our server for 30 minutes. Would recommend not coming on a busy Sunday brunch. Food and atmosphere was great otherwise

Our experience was neither truly terrible nor truly outstanding. It was o.k. The cheeseburger was overdone and the french fries crispy and salty. Was it awful-no. Was it great-no. Probably more suited to a place you would go to meet some friends for a drink as their bar is the focal point of the room.

Such a great ambiance; part neighbourhood cozy pub, part stylish bar and all well-managed. Great cocktails (I recommend the Negroni - which is on special on Thursdays by the way) and great food (I've eaten many of the items on this menu and recommend them all!) and a great time.

We had a great brunch at The Commoner, we had a party of 12 and the service was amazing!! Good variety of options on the Brunch menu and everyone in our party enjoyed the food.
