Located in historic Blagden Alley in D.C.'s Shaw neighborhood since 2015, The Dabney continues to pay tribute to the wonderful farmers, watermen, and purveyors of the mid-Atlantic region whom provide some of the best and most unique products in the country. We celebrate these ingredients by preparing them in a large wood burning hearth which is the centerpiece of our open kitchen. The current dining room experience is an 8-course tasting menu honoring the Mid-Atlantic's bounty. We offer an additional 3-course experience at our bar and bar area tables. Walk-in guests are welcome to enjoy the bar area as well.

The Dabney has been awarded one Michelin star every year since 2017, James Beard Foundation Best Chef Mid-Atlantic for Chef Jeremiah Langhorne in 2018, and Washingtonian Magazine's #1 restaurant in 2023.

At this time we are unable to accommodate severe allium and dairy allergies as well as vegan and vegetarian diets.

    Price: $235 /person Experience the best of the Mid-Atlantic region with a special 8-course tasting menu in The Dabney's hearth lit dining room. The seasonal menu reflects the soul of our beloved mid-Atlantic: with every ingredient representing the history of the region we call home. We are limited in our ability to modify our tasting menu, specifically for severe allium, capsaicin, and dairy allergies as well as vegan and vegetarian diets. A 20% service charge is included in the final bill to ensure our entire staff earns a competitive wage. Gratuity is welcomed but not expected. Any cancellations made under 24 hours of the scheduled reservation time will be subject to the full cost of the 8-course experience.

    This restaurant is excellent! The staff was very kind and attentive. It is a farm to table style restaurant and the food was next level. I had the 8 course tasting menu and each dish was remarkable with a lot of creativity. Definitely Michelin quality and a fair price for the experience overall. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend!

    One of the best dinners we have had. Any diner complaining about price is not giving a reliable review. There was so much delicious food included in the price and it was all presented beautifully. Services was friendly and super professional. We can’t wait to return!

    We love the Dabney, but the portions are now tiny. For the same price, you get twice the food at Rose’s Luxury. There is no value when the $105 price fix menu features a main course that can be eaten in 5 bites. That said, the staff is excellent and the quality of the food is outstanding.

    I think a few things slipped through the cracks as it was a busy Friday night but the food was great and the restaurant accommodated our various dietary restrictions!

    We had such a fabulous, fun dinner. Sarah was personable and professional. Warm, welcoming and well Informed. Absolutely delicious dinner. Perfectly prepared and paced. The Dabney never fails!

    The Dabney was good and the ingredients very fine; food and service was equivalent to any good fine-dining establishment. Nothing was even close to bad but nothing was really off the charts great either; wait, the bread and sorghum butter was very, very good. The service was adequate and kind, but not memorable. The only particularly "nice touch" was the offering of a cider beverage upon seating and engagement. Enjoyed The Dabney last year, I went this year, and I will likely go next year; that's the rating. It was good!

    Food varied and all excelent. Service attentative but not intrusive. We sat in far back which has less view of kitchen and open hearth, but is a bit quieter.

    This was our second visit to The Dabney and it was just as good as the first time. The food is amazing, beautiful and delicious beyond belief. The staff is so attentive in a good way and explains each course (we did the tasting menu). We sat by the kitchen and it was great to watch the fire, the cooking, the careful prep of each plate and the camaraderie between kitchen and serving staff. It’s expensive and we can’t do this often, but it was worth the splurge.

    A thoroughly enjoyable meal! Cozy, upscale (yet homey) atmosphere. The staff is excellent! Food was beautifully presented and tasty. The only part of the 14 course tasting menu that could be improved was the main course. Unfortunately, we found the pork to be overdone and difficult to cut. The sauce and vegetables that accompanied the pork were excellent.
