Hidden gem among Budapest’s famed roofscape, The Duchess is a secret liquor library that shines a new perspective on Budapest vistas, with its stunning views on the Elisabeth Bridge, the Danube River, and the Gellért Hill.
Our past lies in the vision of Her Imperial and Royal Highness Maria Klotild, the founder of the Palace, who asked its famous architects to set up a glamorous rooftop hideaway as a rendezvous escape for the Decadence Movement, where she could share her “joie de vivre” with the socialites of the city.
Our curated selection is tailored for those not afraid of sharpening their senses and enjoying life to the fullest. While the bar serves a collection of its finest liquors, unique cocktails and exceptional wines.
Please note that under 18’s are not permitted in the bar or outside terrace.

The service was not that good. The waitress was moody, she was mean, she did not smile, and did not do any suggestion for the drinks! She never asked that would like to another drink. Overall, because of this low quality of services, we weren't happy. Thank you!

We didn't actually have food but the bar experience was great. David was a great barman giving information and making suggestions wherever needed. We sat at the bar so we didn't really get a chance to enjoy the scenery. Most of the back area was closed so even if you sit in a nice corner, you'll not get much chance to see what's outside. One thing that was annoying was that our reservation was not on the list even though we made a booking via OpenTable. The lady at the door told us that there is a problem with communication between OpenTable and The Duchess. Hopefully, they just didn't make us sit at the bar because of this because the reservation clearly said it was a table.

We went for cocktails before dinner at Spago. Possibly the best cocktails I’ve ever had - incredibly high standard. Gorgoeus surroundings. Views from roof top bar are impressive and wow. Staff very attentive and friendly. 10/10
