The Highlight Room’s real showstopper is the spectacular view of the city through a glass wall that spans the entire width of the room and folds back to allow access to the outdoor terrace. From there, guests can lift a cocktail to the expansive views — north to the Empire State Building, south to the Freedom Tower. The north and south sides of the room are lined with two-toned leather and velvet banquettes positioned to take advantage of the cityscape views from floor-to-ceiling windows.

The bar, set off by wooden arches and antique mirrors, complements the greenery, and elaborate, candelabra-style chandeliers allude to the candles that would illuminate the German garden as evening fell. Layers of premium materials — plaster, brass, velvet upholstery, caramel drapery, terrazzo tiles — add a dose of playful luxury. Although the bar is open to the public, the overall sense is of a swank member’s club, a private Eden commanding the sky above the Lower East Side. Must be 21+.

We didn’t have dinner here but the food sounded good. Everyone had drinks and the drinks were great. Views were incredible and the experience was worth making a reservation and the price of the drinks.

Am anfang haben wir eine flasche sparkling wein genommen alles super. Zum Schluss wollten wir zwei tequilla, tequilla wurde serviert. Aber das war definitiv kein tequilla. Ich habe in eine Farm von tequilla gearbeitet daher weiß ich ganz sicher wie man tequilla macht und wie er schmeckt! Spriritosen schmeckt man schon bevor man einen Schluck nimmt. Aber dieser tequilla war mit Wasser gemischt! Ich war so entäuscht von so einem Ort hätte ich das niemals erwartet! Ich werde aufjedenfall nicht weiter empfehlen.

Very hip place with sweeping NYC views. Drink prices are on the high end, but well worth it for this type of experience.

Beautiful bar with great views. The three cocktails we tried were all excellent and the way staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Definitely recommend, sunset was beautiful too.

The ambience was breathtaking. The appetizers were delicious, especially the pretzel. The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.
