   My expectations were high and unfortunately experience was mediocre. Waited an hour for our food and then another 20 minutes for someone to collect our bill. Restaurant did not appear to be busy which made it all the more disappointing. For the price we paid I expected excellent food and excellent service. Food was good not great and service was slow.

   The flavors were wonderful yet the quantity did not match the pricing; for example, my scallop entrée had only 3 scallops. What the server described as large entrées designed for sharing did not have enough food on the plate to satisfy one diner.

   We had a wonderful lunch at The Kitchen American Bistro today. We started with a carrot appetizer that was surprisingly delicious combination of hot and cool. My two guests and I were well served by Brett whose recommendations were spot on. We loved the mussels , the chicken salad and the Caesar salad with smoked trout and the cheesecake we shared for dessert was a perfect ending to a fantastic lunch. Can’t wait to come back and explore the dinner menu.

   Everything is really good about this place except that the "main" dishes are more appetizer-sized than they are "main" sized.

    Stephan was an excellent waiter that was attentive, but not over bearing. He was helpful with recommendations. We had apps/small plates. Beet salad, burrata and the bread were delicious.
