We booked a table on the pub website. When we arrived, they had no record of our booking. My husband myself and my dad had taken my mum out for lunch. She’s in a care home. So we don’t get to do this very often. My mum was in her wheelchair as she has mobility issues. The waitress was lovely, but that was the only positive. Three of us had a carvery the meat was dry and tasteless, and most of the veg was undercooked. We ordered desserts and were told the cheesecake was sold out two of us chosen this, Then they came back to us and told us it was available. The cheesecakes were brought out after 10 minutes of ordering and we were told the two crumbles were just browning. We waited a further 15/20 minutes for the crumbles. The tables are around us were complaining about issues with food. The waitress was lovely and was very apologetic. She looked very embarrassed to be honest. When the crumbles finally came out, they were stone cold in the middle and warm around the edge, The waitress came over as she could see would not eaten them and asked it they were okay. I said no, they were cold and by that point I’ve had enough, As our whole experience had been ruined. My mum left And as I went to take her in a wheelchair, they had blocked off the access disabled toilet door with a couple sat eating. The couple then had to be moved, and even then it was a struggle to get my mum in a wheelchair through the narrow corridor between two doors. I couldn’t take her out of one entrance and the other instead as the entrance had steps. In the toilet, the handrail next to the toilet wouldn’t come down. The toilet roll holder was loose and kept coming off every time he tried to dispense toilet roll. It was another struggle To get my mum’s chair out of the disabled toilet door and try and open the Next door with clearance to get back into the pub. The disabled access and facilities in this pub is very poor and shocking for this day and age.
We will not be visiting again.
